Quote from PioneerLv :I got a problem with Z22 and Z24.

Did you check if the problem is the same with regular Z (or Z20)?

Quote from HVS5b :Agreed, my five year old RX8 has a shift light, it also goes 'beep' at me as well in case I don't notice the light

RX8 is a bit different than a normal car. It needs the light and beep more than a normal car.

Quote from Shadowww :Nobody would delete it anyways, mine was just corrupted.

Many people seem to delete it for some reason. It has been mentioned in test patch threads multiple times.

Quote from Scawen :Here you go, for anyone that has deleted it.
LFS_restart.exe should be in the main LFS folder.

How about hiding the restart.exe in to data folder? Maybe it would prevent people from deleting it because it would be out of sight.

Quote from =Wolf=[NO] :I like this idea, a filter "removing" all servers with +36 degrees would also make it easyer for racers to ignore drift servers

That actually isn't such a bad idea. I don't think servers need to set the allowed degrees precisely though. A simple "drift" on/off setting would be enough. Without it the max lock would be 36 degrees and when it's on the max lock would be higher eg. 45 degrees. With this setting you could also filter the servers in the server list. And since there would actually be a reason to use the setting, drift-servers would use it and race-servers wouldn't.

Quote from wheel4hummer :Anyway. The vehicles that I've been in that had shift lights were a Saturn S-series (Mine is an automatic but i've been in two manual trans ones), a 1997 Honda Civic HX, and a 1999 Chevy S10.

I guess it's an American thing. Atleast I have never seen a shift light in the cars I have been in and since this is Europe almost all of them have been manuals.

If you really need it you can get the money for it yourself.

It's always light in LFS and the lights don't work properly yet (they don't emit light). The XRG/XRT lights will probably pop up when night driving is implemented.

Quote from [nism0]M5 : When you turn ON ABS it turns off, and vice versa ? bit annoying lol but i am not sure if i only have this problem, i think many other people may have come across this bug.

The light is supposed to be OFF when ABS is ON. It's a warning light to tell you that ABS is off.

Anyway. It's your choice that you moved your view so that you can't fully see the dials. You can either move it so that you see them or you could disable the wheel or you could use virtual dials.

The bottom line is that you are one of the few people who would need this feature. And since that is only because you put the view in such a way in the first place, it seems to me that this feature is really not needed. Also even if there would be adjustment some one would probably think of a view where it still would block the dials or wheel could move to a unrealistic positions.

Also what I just noticed is that the driver would need to also be adjusted if you moved the wheel. The arms would need to be in a angle or the seat would have to move too.

no reason to move the mirror higher.

Quote from ADX.14 :You are right, the default settings doesn't block dashboard. But in the name of seeing dashboard completely, I must sacrify almost half of the FOV.

What do you mean? You can increase the FOV in the default in car view too, and by doing that the dials don't become blocked.

Yeah. The view settings don't change how the car looks from the outside. I just used to illustrate that the mirror is in the correct position. It's just that there is no visibility reason to move the mirror higher. There are adjustments to move it lower and more to the left because someone might be using a low FOV which would make the mirror not be visible, hence you can move it to the visible area. No one is using a view that would require the mirror to be moved higher for it to be visible.

It's also seems to be your custom views fault that the dials are behind the wheel that badly. In the default in car view the dials are almost fully visible (the wheel is only slightly in the way in some cars). So instead of requesting wheel offset settings, you should change your own view settings.

Quote from NightEye :The problem with LFS clutch is that somehow the engine doesn't give enough torque. IRL you can slowly lift the clutch and the car will go (it will drive on its own if you do nothing). In LFS it will just stall.

That is mostly due to gearing. In LFS all setups have a very long first gear and in real life the first gear is usually very short. This is why you have to give more throttle in LFS to prevent stalling.

Also in real life it's easier to feel if you are giving enough throttle or not. In LFS you don't notice it untill the car stalls. Pulling off gently is quite precise operation after all.

You don't need a setting for the wheel offset. There is only one place you would want it, which is out of the way of the dials. I can't see why someone would want it in front of the dials. You don't need to adjust the wheel position for physical reasons like in real life either. The dashboard could maybe be re-designed so that the wheel wouldn't block the dials.

As for moving the mirror upwards: If you set the mirror offsets to 0, the mirror is where it would be in real life. It looks like it's too low, but if you look at it from the outside and/or measure where it is in your real car, it's in the correct position. Moving it up would actually make it go through the windshield.

I guess it could also be a totally new car...

But I don't really see the benefit in having a that kind of car in LFS. It's like diesel cars, sure it's a bit different than normal petrol cars, but the racing them is the same. It would require an x amount of coding and there would be almost no difference in racing.

Besides there is no use for having two camshafts in LFS, because you don't need to save fuel. You only need the performance camshaft.

Quote from Dreadlokz :If u already have 2 cars incrossfire or sli, try softhx, its not as good asEyeFinity, but its free, at lastI think it is! lol

In some aspects SoftTH is better, in some aspects EyeFinity is better.

SoftTH's advantages are:
- Possible to use different resolution in side monitors
- Does not require specific hardware (eg. does not require a DisplayPort monitor)
- Enabled only while the game is running
- Has bezel compensation

EyeFinitys advantages are:
- More compatible because it works at driver level
- Does not require having multiple graphics cards

Quote from Dangerous Dave :Jut wondering if it works well with different sized screens? I guess it'd be ok?

With SoftTH you can use different resolution for the middle monitor and for the side monitors. Except the side monitors have to be the same resolution afaik.

Quote from J@tko :Scawen I can only get a list of Z21/Z22 hosts on the host list, but I can still connect to Z12 hosts if I input the server in manually - is this normal?

TCP hosts are filtered out by default. Change the filter in bottom right.

Quote from Cue-Ball :Of course, this isn't the first time the "LFS is getting stagnant" issue has come up in these forums, and it probably won't be the last. Scavier will do what they do, and as long as they can keep putting food on their tables I don't think they're bothered to much if we think development is slow.

LFS is mostly the devs' pet project. They want to do it on their on terms. They are not selling it to make maximum amount of profit or wanting to make everyone happy. The devs want to do what they consider the perfect sim, if some one else likes it it's just a bonus.
They are only selling it so that they won't have to have another job.
