well this isn't twilight zone but almost...
same settings, same setup, same resolution, same car and track....the handling is just diferent.
30 fps..? baloo you play like hell and pbu too.
Too bad about the test drive, it should be possible to upload test drive hotlaps, by the way baloo the test drive in question was from a team mate yours.
PS: just blew a 1.05.88 with a final 28.05...damn it.
thanks all for the replys.
thanks a lot baloo for spending time analyising my hotlap.
Yes, is the S in the 2nd sector that is kiling me, funny thing yesterday i was watching a replay and test driving and i found myself driving a car with a nice setup, almost break my PB, which would be kinda weird (is the hotlap valid for submission?) and did a 34.55 on the 2nd(my best so far).
Just another thing...i know that shouldn't be difs between a frame rate of 75 and 95, but i really believe the car behaves tottaly diferent, the handling is so much great, could it be the monitor.
I'm using a 17" LCD with a ersponse time of 12ms, my friends is a 19" CRT(i think, the screen area seems to be almost the same).
hello fellow racers.
i play mostly in Blackwood with the XFG car, my best hotlap is 1.33.70
here's goes my problem:
i manage to get 31.3x on the first sector and i manage to get 27.7x(my best is 27.69) in the last sector, what i don't understand is why i can't keep with others racers in the 2nd split...this is driving me absolutely crazy, all i can do is 34.7x and worse.
i'm tired of watching replays, comparing this replays with the Speed Analyser and watch them at .500 and .250 (time) to see the braking points and entries...when i try to copy cat, nothing, nothing...
When i play in a friends pc that is recent than mine, i find the car more stable with the same setup than playing on my own, its a bit old... amd xp1600 with 256 mbytes of ram with a msi 5900 xt graphic card.
i'm very sad to hear so many comments about restricting the game to Demo Players...
Why?
If there's many players in Demo servers that's probably because the game is appealing, and the more demo people play, more people will buy it...that's only one opinion.
wow...like i thought, nobody uses the 3rd view.
damn, i know this is probably a mistake, but i never fancy driving with the cockpit (alwais messing around) and i never liked the wheels view.
i tryed for a few hours a wheel instead of the keyboard (i'm a kb), and i realize that using a wheel, the cockipit view is the best choice.
hello janm.
i'm a keyboarder too, not kn but ks.
we have to race together one of theses days.
i race mostly at SKH Fairplay (demo server).
never quite understand how come people race with with kn, i find it very dificult to control.
Pellit, being a demo racer and using keyboard i strongly advice you to forget the keyboard.
It seems really easy to control, but wait till you starting seeking for fast times, it will become painfull ant stressfull.
Devote (lol) the most possible of time in LFS racing with with the mouse.
And when you buy LFS (oh yes, you will feel the urge to do this), the best choice will be the wheel, till then i think you really don't need the wheel.
PS: I did 1.32.44 a few days ago in BLGP using the XFG, but i took ages, and now this time is easly beaten by mouse, wheel players with a few weeks of gaming.
cya
hey Tukko, i tryed your setups(well, only the BL GP), but the control problems
remains.
I tryed a different kb settings, but it's hard, if i set a higher value in steer rate, i need a high value of return rate and i'm not used to play with high return rates(i don't the wheel to return that fast), if i set a lower value in steer rate, the driving is more smooth but more dificult to manage, i even tryed the KN option only to find out the nightmare of that thing.
Goona keep trying...but that 2nd gear is really making me lose my patiente.
hi thanks for the replys and i think i got...i'll never be able to drive well with the keys, like most guys said, the corners with 2nd gear are reaaly hard to make...
this is what i have in a few tries, but it's damn hard to control the car.
"Its a case of "tapping the keys like a madman" technique. Dont hold your fingers down until you're totally straight, and going through corners you need to "tap" the accelerate key to keep it at half / medium throttle."
Lol...this quick tapping needs a lot of practice...i think my brain would blow before achive this technique.
hi.
i've been playing lfs for a few months, but never gave a chance to the others cars, only played with the XFG.
Now i wanna start making farter times with the other 2 cars and damn...i can complete one lap without making a spin.
the lower speed corners are the problems, it's impossible to me to throttle in the middle of the corner.
i'm using a plain keyboard and i know that several guys with keys can race with the rwd cars...i wonder how they do it.
hello..can someone give some advices on how to control rwd cars?
i play with the keyboard and before someone tell me to get a wheel, i must say that i'm a demo player yet, only will get one when buying the license.
i can't make a corner without losing the rear...and when trying to set the car right i end up doing a spun.
i know i must be gentle with the throtle...i have set the button control rate to 2.0...but the problem remains.
i guess demo players can have S1, S2 friends...can they?
or every time a guy buys a license enters wonderland where demo players are forgotten and forbidden...of course it has no use for me.
but if a friend comes to me and says "hey do you know anyone that has a FXO setup for Aston Club, coz i can't find no one in setupfield", what should i say..."hey man go find one for your own, because i'm a demo palyer and i'm not allowed to make this useless and pointless questions in LFS Forum"
