Quote from Viperakecske :Somewhat same applies to Flotch and others...havent played lfs in 10years time but still praising Scavier,no hate

lol, not playing online does not mean I do not play at all. I am even planning to buy a VR headset for my 40s coming in few days : and the goal is mainly only to use LFS with it Cool ... no time to play frenzy, that's life, but I remain a fan of what LFS is bringing to me when I do few laps even against some AI Na-na

There are lots of points to be improoved : not only temperature.
There will be a difference in handling, and one main goal is to have most of the flaws allowing "cheats" to disappear, so I expect FWD to handle like they should (indeed, having a locked diff and no antiroll bar at the back to have the car to rotate like a charm on the gas is not normal Big grin ).
Let's quote Eric :
Quote from Eric :I quite liked “close your eyes and pray” corners back in the day! Big grin

Without getting into too much detail, it’s mainly some corners on the the faster circuits. I won't start quoting each corner because I don't want to turn this thread into a request for corner changes.

Before The release of S2 and GTRs, I was working with S1 tyre physics which had very little grip before Scawen improved on it. The classic case is Westhill which was challenging with the old Pre-S2 tyre code but just became a flat-out drive with the current physics. My fault, partly for not thinking ahead design wise and not having the experience. Anyway, I’ve addressed most of the design issues I’ve had with Westhill, so hopefully no-one will fall asleep at the wheel this time.Smile

As a side note, I have no idea how the revised Westhill will drive with the old tyre physics that you guys are using. I’ve been testing with the new tyre physics for a few years now and I refuse to drive the old one, which has just doesn’t have that visceral tyre feel and response compared to the new tyre physics.

Quote from rik97 :Scawen, I have a question but don't know how easy it is to add in.

Different cars need different ffb strength ingame. LFS original cars are quite close but will be still usefull for, but mod cars need sometimes twice as much ffb.

So can you make this setting car specific like the view setting? Smile

does the scripts I was asking for here https://www.lfs.net/forum/thread/93174-Settings-for-custom-interior-views-and-FFB-settings-linked-to-the-car-used available for modded cars ?

and its not only 1 kerb, you know that i guess, just playing a bit?

Quote :Many of the kerbs now use 3D objects

Let's suppose it will be improved ...
Anyway, I was doing some laps around oulton park in ACC, and found the kerbs more deadly.
Most of time I suppose kerbs are crossable from the inside wheel perspective (this explains the presence of sausages kerb added to limit the thing Big grin ), but regularly the outside wheel has to avoid the contact (even if anyway, the crazy jump you got in video is too much I agree).

is it worth considering the possible repair of engine during a race that had suffer from overreving ? Changing the whole engine, why not ... but if you have to change tappets, spring for the valves, etc ... looks like complex and even more time consumming than doing an engine swap !
I would more expect to see like rik97 is saying an option on/off to repair it or not.
But anyway, from a gaming experience perspective, maybe a different approach is to be considered Tongue

Big grin random would mean not related if I am correct ? while this patch gives :
Quote from Scawen :
A long requested feature to display maximum speed for each gear in setup screen.

And seeing the dyno curve in another tool ... well, it is another tool, the purpose is to see it in the "game" !

Of course if I totally agree with you that there are far more important topic for Scawen, but :
* he was on the gear ratio thing (and it is a great update to me even if it looks like a tiny little thing), so my "request" (let's be honest, it is not a request, just a suggestion) is just to have a display making the thing even more user friendly
* the power-torque curve is alreday coded, so maybe it may not a huge deal to implement
Wink

Nice an unexpected Thumbs up
While at it, may we have something like on zeperfs.com website :
* a small graph showing these ratio with speed against rpm and three lines showing max torque rpm, max power rpm and redline ?

* a power and torque curve displayed next engine specs ?

Happy Christmas and end of year holidays guys, you rock !
Nice reading as always, and glad there is some time spent on Fern Bay ! Even if not 2.0 already, the touch brought look indeed very nice, and seeing it under night : Heart

Quote from Aleksandr_124rus :...
Or is tire physics a separate topic in which devs need to work?

=> indeed, as far as we know
Going for 1000Hz and multithreading is a very good move for plenty of aspects, but having the tire physics (and maybe other things related to physics aswell) is a different topic on the list !

Quote from Aleksandr_124rus :It would be great if a similar style of reports would be not only for Multithreading topic. Later it could be combined into reports in the style as it was done before. But i guess no.
Btw, Multithreading was one of the last things left to do? Is there still something left to finish the update for a testing stage?

physics my dear !

Quote from timdecnodder :Hybrid tires in LFS prevent me from using IRL engine specs, you burn your tires within a lap while having no grip

I see what you mean unfortunately ... 1 lap and a half, and the tires are more than red

hey hey, looking in the comments seems to be a >500hp car, looks really cool to have the project approoved by Saab (even if Saab is out from being an automotive vendor for several years now, but it remains a cool brand) !!

Yep, a bit disappointed aswell to not see a gravel or rallyx section appearing...
Anyway, Bancroft looks like a fast track ! It will be good when seeing the possible layouts Heart

Taavi(EST): nice one. I love my polo 2 ( small 1.05 with 45hp there). I got thumbs up regularly on the road, gas station...a very enjoyable ride (especially with bilstein B6, even if they are a bit too stiff for such 'light' car). I understand your love for such car !

Bob Smith : whatever the engine/transmission : the most enjoyable part in driving to my taste is taking corners. The model 3 perf I bought is giving a nice rotation of the back when hitting the accelerator, and it is quite nice regarding this, maybe even more savage than the AMGs I had. The most negative point I encounter up to now is that you cannot disable esp while driving...you must stop, engage the parking mode, put the track mode (it runs the fans for the battery at max)... Where is the spontaneity ? 😁 All this is of course subjective, but if the engine of the polo was as violent as the one of the Tesla, it would become a deadly weapon 🤣

Default setup are a good idea..they are just not good (maybe due to current physics) currently. I have created in the past some default setups that gives the feeling of driving the real counterpart of the cars and use them each time I am running lfs nowadays (I do not try to go fast, just to enjoy the physics). I hope to have this same feeling with the default setups in the future (New tire physics ftw). But I understand the point : a base option to select a default setup for each car could indeed be pleasant.

Quote from VladM :Best idea is for Scawen to stop responding. People are always gonna complain, there's been 20 threads of people asking about "development progress" this year alone.

Thousands are not registered because the physics is at 100Hz.
In a next release, we can guess that as Scawen is trying to implement a system with the new tire physics to compute it at 1000Hz => ms on the way Wink
