I made my own dedi steerlock, and i'll share it, unless x-noise wants the genuine brand certified quality experience release from kamkor, but he didnt specify that yet.

May I suggest a system to automatically ban noobophobia, homophobia, demophobia, and all kind of insults and disrespect even if it is one of the most popular feature in the game.

The thing that surprised me the most on LFS was the sectarism and disrespect showed at every corner, every race, every server.
I thought it would be better on S2, but the fact is it is worse.

This has to be cleared off servers, or it is no game anymore.
(and off forums would be cool too, some true moderation)

Hi,

I have been running a dedi demo server for more than year and never had this one before, nor any kind of graphical glitch / video card problem.
Please take a look at this : screenshot.
Before the writings went to show, every connected player included me playing 'local' session experienced a biiiig lag, and the the whole display froze for 3 seconds.
The message on the panel is attached to every tree and invites me (fat-oil) for a twin drift session, kind of not random thing to me. The red writing changed and first was some kanji signs like nicknames often show, so i guess it is/was hacker's nick.
The exploit lasted 3 minutes before everything came back to nice green trees, without restarting anything.

I thought LFS was a secured game, do I miss something or can people hack servers as easily ?
Is there any tool to rely on to avoid this ?

It seems i cant have !kick command to work on a demo server.

This is not working when using right click on target name (the person to kick) to get it in the command line, which is the standard procedure to kick spec and ban.
The /msg line still works fine, writing correct names (nicknames).
To get !kick to work, one has to manually enter username (and not nickname) in lfs command line, the problem is there is no way to get usernames for the lfs screen, the only clue happens when people connect, at this moment, username is displayed after nickname inside parenthesis.

The !spec command works fine, maybe lfs dont needs username on this one. But i bet !ban aint working too.

Do i miss something ?

Hi,

I and a friend have modified lfslapper source code to get better experience of a drifting session.

There is now realtime display of :
- drift angle,
- current drift points growing
- total drift score

and i added a thing i called ST Ratio wich is totaldriftscore divided by currentlaptime, kind of opints per second gauge.
After each lap, STRatio is sent as a public message, like total drift score, and written to a database file.
The database file is useless for now as i didnt take time to do things with it, like a !drf ish table display.

I would like some feedback, so please feel free to connect Fat Oil Drifting Ground (Demo Server) and take some laps to experience it.

I may release it publicly later, with source code and the all. My wish would be that my modifications are integrated in next official release, so i wont have to hack again
Anyway, i will share app and code with anyone asking for it.

LFS is a Race simulator, and i am ok with that. The fact is that it is much MORE than that.
And this should be taken advantage from.
Just have some place allowing the MORE component to express itself, will dramatically reduce the amount of noise (cheaters) by redirection of most of the flow to those places.

I understand very well there are places, servers, where hack is unwanted.
I respect this and wouldn't cheat a competition where a nos hack is forbidden, because yes, it kills the race spirit.

What i would like you all to grasp is that instead of using much energy and time to hunt them (spectating, screenshoting, replaying, forum complaining, insulting etc...), i prefer taking advantage of it as a new challenge, on a server where rules explicitely allow the hack so no one is cheated.

Respect must come from the two sides, hack users, and normal fuel players, to be effective and sustainable, then the noise becomes music, enjoyable music.
