@ mikey g
Its not just the case of breaking something when dismantling !
logitech paint all there securing bolts so once they have been disturbed it flakes off.
Yes you can repaint them but
Its never looks the same and its a simple tell tale that the case has been off .
Extra buttons required on the wheel for look left, & right, ventrillo, pit limiter etc .
Yes the shifter has more buttons but as a personal preferance i like to have them at my fingertips.
@ art555
Good idea, was my plan to do this first, but would still need to open up the wheel to run cables so decided to try this way first if it doesn't work or i'm not happy with it them its back to plan a

i found a post over at rsc about a poor mans button mod, where a gamepad was cabled tied to the wheel with enough slack cable to allow the wheel to do its full calibration on start up .
Not really what i had in mind but it got me thinking about stripping down the guts of a wireless gamepad and mounting it on a new boss 4 the wheel , which would save having to open the wheel up to run wires and invalidating the warrenty in the process!
So have ordered a game pad and an in the process of fabricating a boss to mount it on will keep you posted on my progress .....

have been thinking of making a mod for my g25 and adding some extra buttons to the wheel.
Had a look about but not really found much details on it!

hi all, great tut

had a play with it and come up with my first render, basically straight out of the box as described in the tut,
happy with the results apart from the wheels and wheel arches ! they seem to be made up of straight lines,
is there a way of getting blender to calculate them more to give a better curve ?

have looked back thru this thread and noticed that some of the renders are the same as mine but others seem to have got round this problem

any help would be great

devildare, this is a quick tut how i did the rain in the pic below using photoshop

http://www.lfsforum.net/attach ... id=56896&d=1211810012

duplicate the layer(ctrl+j) now go to image> image adjustments>levels and make your settings for input levels 18 / 1.00 /255 output levels should be set at 1 / 255
(this gives the image a dark feel of a rainy day)

the next step is to create a new layer(shift+ctrl+n) with a white background. now go to filter > noise > add noise and adjust the slider amount to about 85%

now go to filter > blur > motion blur and set the angle to about 73 and distance to 24.
now go to image > image > adjustments > levels and set the input levels to 201 / 1.00 / 255
now go to layers pallet and change your blending mode to screen
now duplicate the layer and go to edit > transform > rotate 180 degrees and reduce the opacity of the layer to about 80
now with the topmost layer selected press ctrl+e to merge the two top layer

thats the rain but to add more realisome to it i added some wind
do this by going to filter > distort >twirl and set the angle to 5 degrees
you may have to inlarge the layer slightly to hide the edges that can some times not look right. but thats it m8
these are the settings i used but you can play with them to get the best results for your pic
hope it was some help
