That's true, but you'd succeded much quicker if you'd taken the academic approach. Of course there's a huge difference between theoratical teachings and learning by doing, but that doesn't mean that theoretical knowledge is futile. Quite on the contrary: if you can learn something by imitation, it doesn't neccessarily make you understand the principles behind it, thus it denies any further progress, or slows it down considerably.
And just as a sidenote: I dropped out of two different universities, still found a great job in my field. But it was a real struggle and I was quite desperate at times. So yes, there are drop-outs and autodidacts without formal education who have success, but they are the exception, NOT the rule!
Wait what? Where did I say I want to kill people? It's just that religion is an outdated, flawed concept of explaining how the world works. It has had its use, but now it is time to move forward and abandon that concept.
But, and here's where I differ from religions, that's my opinion, and I don't have the intentions, nore the means of enforcing that on everybody.
Well, that's a trait of most religions, not only muslim jihadists. Just read your bible. That's why I think that religions should be abolished in general.
Feel your pain. As I can't bring myself to skip races until I go to the next tier, I'm stuck at amateur, allthough I could already race the expert series just because no friggin truck turns up in the used car dealership.
But then I found this, which I had to buy for collecting reasons (pic not by me):
Seems I got my christmas present early. And paid for it.
But then, the jaguar does look nice, allthough the chrome line classic cars are a tad pointless as you can't drive them in the classic cups (plus, the paintjobs look silly).
I rather guess they're talking of "Remoulade", a mix of mayo, mustard and a few other things. Quite tasty indeed.
And on another note: stop eating fast food every day. Cook your meals with fresh ingredients.
Just don't repeat my mistakes and make it too tasty, or else you will still gain weight.
Also, not entirely unrelated, "stones" sound like a silly way to measure weight :P
Well, you're responsible for how you drive and how you judge situations. I don't know what it is like on your roads, and perhaps I have read to much into what you said.
My point is still valid though that you should drive like everyone else is out to kill you (an dthat includes deer suddenly running in your car), and even more so in winter conditions.
Paradoxon much? Hope you don't hurt someone when you learn your lesson.
A road isn't a racetrack, and a snowy road where most people can't drive properly on even less.
What you fail to see is that you not nonly have to keep a margin for your own errors, but also an additional margin for every other person on the road.
Because driving at normal road speeds works only as long as you don't have to emergency brake or go around corners.
Even if the road is grippy, it takes one slippery spot to lose it, and you won't know if the patch you're driving on is slippery unless you actually do brake or turn.
It's people like you who cause most of the congestions on my daily commute, by being stupid and crashing into things.
Just a quick rundown:
Time lost per trip to/from work due to me driving sensibly: 10-15 minutes
Time lost due to stupid people per trip to/from work: 30 - 45 minutes.
I don't think that the people selling them are stupid.
On the other hand people who buy them...
So as I gather, you get one registration plate in the UK and you stick with it for the rest of your life, or if somebody buys it?
We get new plates pretty much everytime we move.
Or we rent customized plates for 230€ for 15 years. And you're not allowed to sell it to somebody else, as it is tied to your person.
Hmm. I got a similar memory related problem once: When viewing the different premium cars in my garage, all got the wheels of my currently chosen car. Only affected the garage though.
EDIT: here's the source for GS, seems like the editor can't really read. Some things in that list are not worked on, but were discarded during developement. Still, a patch with damage settings is in the works to be released early this month. Yay!

does anybody else find the nascar challanges easy? Managed to get gold on the first two tiers of challenges in the first try. Compared to the Nürbi- challanges, a nice change of pace
Well, I base my assumption off what Scawen told us and common sense. And I trust in Scawens remark that he would inform us if he stopped working on LfS.
Also, he said in the past that he chose to work in a small team on LfS for idealistic reasons, rather than monetary ones. IIRC, he wanted to ceate a great racing sim, and if he can live off it, than that's a bonus. And that's why LfS is so great, because most other companies do in fact work the other way round: they want to make money, and if that spawns a good game, that would be the bonus.
Also, I guess I am just a patient guy. Would I like to have the next update now? Yes! Does the world end if it takes another two years? No!
It's not like the anticipation of the patch is the only meaning in my life, and all i'm trying to suggest is that people calm down in here.
