I totally lose my shit everytime I load up a track. Yesterday I ended up hotlapping FOX on BL1 all day trying to get under 23:50 1st split. When I did it I jumped out of my chair and smashed into a wall. When I sat down feeling like an idiot I realized my legs, arms, eyes, hands and feet were sore as all get out and I had run t1 over 100 times. So what did I do? Go outside? Eat something? I logged on Redline Racing and watched diK pull 1:07's and started the cycle over again. I love this game.

That 25mph reading is just the wheels locking up in braking he is actually in the 60-70 range I believe. I cannot enter that turn for the life of me, I can exit the turn at full throttle and be in 4th before I get to the chicane but I always screw up T1 turn in. The lowest first split I have ever achieved is a 23:74. I wish someone could give me a detailed explanation of that turn because I just can't do it. It's getting really frustrating doing 24x 1st splits and still pulling off 49:80 2nd splits. I know I could drop massive time off of my PB if I could get T1 down.

Three days ago I modified an old Madcatz Xbox steering wheel. I made a lever from MDF and mounted it where the steering wheel used to be. I think strengthed the springs on one side(the direction you pull) and replaced the other springs with wire so that I could limit the rang of motion in both directions. It isn't beautiful but it works like a charm. I have it set up on a footstool next to my chair.

As for the speaker thing, if this 14 year old kid has access to speakers that are better than my logitechs and will function better when connected to his computer, more power to him but I can't even find info on these speakers he mentioned. Believe me I know my Z-5500's are on the low end in the audio reproduction big picture but as far as functionality, looks, sound and reliability go I don't think they can be beat.

I will try to get some detailed pics of my handbrake setup ASAP. It was about a 3 hour project from idea to tweaking in LFS, definitely do-able by sam93 and his father.

Turn your ingame and windows rotation to 900 degrees. Set your Wheel turn Compensation to .01 and set controller rotation in all your setups to 900 degress.

Hell of alot better speakers than Logitech Z-5500's? I think not. I can't find any info on this KV-DV system so I can't really help out.

I've done this with my G15 keyboard, I don't see why it couldn't be done with a wheel. As someone mentioned earlier, Ventrilo gives you the option to set controller buttons to binds. I imagine TS has some option like that if you dig deep enough.

The only time I mind a blue flag is when the guy flagging me can't actually catch me. He's 100 yards behind me and not gaining but he wants me to throw my car into the gravel so he can get by. If you can't lap me, don't blue flag me.

On the subject of FFB, is it a necessity? I am currently using a wheel from my xbox that I used when I played Forza. I modded it to use on my PC but I find I'm really reaching the wheel's limit when I play, it sticks to my desk with suction cups(read: wishes it stuck to my desk with said suction cups) and it's only got 270* rotation and the wheel is 8" or so in diameter. I am looking for a solid wheel with FFB and good rotation. What are the obvious choices here, I keep looking at the G25 and drooling but then I remember the ~300 price tag and cry. I've only ever used a few wheels, this madcatz xbox wheel and an old old saitek r4 ffb that won't seem to work with windows XP anymore.
