Description

1990s Fund Mutsand
The Fauxbody Mutsand is the third generation of Fund’s iconic pony car, produced from 1979 to 1993, and is widely loved for its lightweight, boxy design and raw, no-nonsense performance. Built on Fund’s “Faux” platform, it ditched the bulk of earlier models in favor of a simpler, more angular look that made it both lighter and more agile. Its clean lines, squared-off nose, and hatchback or notchback body styles gave it a distinctly ‘80s character that still stands out today.

Under the hood, the Fauxbody became a legend thanks to the 5.0L V8, which delivered strong torque, easy mod potential, and an unmistakable exhaust rumble. Affordable, easy to work on, and hugely supported by the aftermarket, it became a favorite for street builds, drag racing, and daily driving alike. Even decades later, the Fauxbody remains a symbol of accessible American muscle and continues to have a devoted following among car enthusiasts.
