Realistic NASCAR's World TBO Championship Round #3 (Blackwood 200) Preview

Realistic NASCAR’s World TBO Championship Series takes the green flag for the third time this Sunday with the Blackwood 200. This is the shortest track that the series will have used to date, and if the optimistic outlook of Race Director Cameron Corns says anything this is going to be the most exciting race to date.

“Last week’s Aston 150 was much more exciting than the Japanese 250. There was a slightly smaller field, but even so; more cars finished and the excitement level was way up. The aggression of the drivers was at an all time high, and yet the competitors were able to maintain control enough that there was only one yellow flag needed. That was for a mistake on behalf of Elton Chong entering the first turn on lap number three when he missed the braking zone and spun Niki(for Dakovic) in front of the rest of the pack. There wasn’t really an option on that call when you look at the safety side of the race.

“I doubt that this week we’ll be able to go caution free, but as always, I’m hoping that we do.”

This week’s race will be run on a different, and still unannounced, server. That information is fourth coming, and will be announced via the sign-ups and information forum and via your weekly information PM for those participating.

“Tires will definitely be something to pay attention to this week once again.” Corns commented earlier this week. “Competitors will need to either stop once, or be very careful that they don’t wear them excessively and to be truly honest, I don’t think that it will be possible to make it to the finish on the same tires that you start with baring a caution flag or so, but I believed this to be also true for the Japanese 250 and I was proved wrong so we’ll just have to see what happens come Sunday.”

Elton Chong looks to defend his eight point advantage over second place Nikifor Dakovic, and Elton (the only entry from his team to score points) also looks to defend LAG’s two point lead over Tiger Express Motorsports in the team championship. The Nation’s Points Championship is solidly paced by Latvia (with its oppressive number of entries) who has a whopping thirteen point lead over Elton Chong’s Hong Kong.

All participants will be updated on race information and given the password in the early morning hours for those who live on Europe.

The Blackwood 200 will kick off at 15:30 GMT with qualifying and stacking of the race grid will begin shortly after that. The race is currently slated to start at 16:05 GMT.
