Donald finally claimed his maiden win!

Monday 16th june in the evening at Blackwood with the historic reverse config, the Imprezzive B2 by Rubie was the mod picked for this 6th round of the french league. After a pre-qualification period shortened to 2 weeks, summer schedule forced, L.Rydh put his hand and his wheels on the pole position. Of course in second place, who else than KingOfIce to accompany him on the first row? Second row was completed by Donald and a newcomer in the person of a second Winners driver, the canadian Marks. 3rd row was a full FSR one with System ahead of Kip, meanwhile Cyk, LeManchot, Proxima and Geraxi were completing the top 10 out of a 17 qualified drivers. ZMaty14Z (14th) and Yorry (17th) were infortunately missing at the start.

When the lights went out, L.Rydh took a good start, so did Donald, Marks and System, while KingOfIce seemed to struggle out of his grid spot to drop into 5th. Behind them, Proxima also did a good Start to get behind. We believed the Winners would potentially score a 1-2 when Marks already climbed into 2nd, getting the best of Donald. But the GUM Garage's Lituanian driver stayed calm, and eventually got his second place back while L.Rydh started to build up a gap. Behind the top 5, the Battle was roaring between Proxima, Cyk, Kip, DLV and Tomfuel for the 6th position. Approaching the 5th lap, it seemed like Marks was the first driver to struggle with his tires. Indeed, the 345 horsepower all wheel drive Imprezzive B2 was reputed to be a tire killer, and it probably was all about to be quick without killing the tires too much. And at the beginning of the 5th lap, things went hot in the first corner, as both System and KingOfIce decided to attack the newcomer, that eventually went wide all alone by himself, leaving the 2024 champion and its runner-up take the positions. Behind them, Proxima was still holding his dear 6th place while Kip was 7th in front of DLV and Cyk. Out of the top 10, the former team mates Loopingz and Nanex were fighting for 11th, and it seemed like Nanex was getting the opportunity to claim it. 2 laps later, KingOfIce decided to plug his air conditionner, but it wasn't efficient against someone living in the north east of France, then King decided to speed up, and eventually got the best of System at the 7th lap after the long straight.

The things then seemed to settle as it was for the mid race, but we could see Donald was closing more and more his gap to L.Rydh, to a point he could start pretending to take the lead. And this is exactly what happened on the 11th lap, the GUM Garage's driver took the best of the Team Winners' one. Further behind, Cyk was starting to know into Kip's window figthing for the 7th with the hope of getting Proxima's 6th, since the NFR driver wasn't very far. While Nanex entered the top 10 earlier, his team mate Geraxi, seemed to loose his pace, and LeManchot took profit of that for the 11th place. But then on 12th lap, KingOfIce seemed to be struggling, while System, that was holding the same pace since the race beginning, was closing the gap on him. On the last corner, they were set to be 2 cars wide, but it's at that moment System decided to pull a beautiful move and passed KingOfIce at the outside of the last corner! The FSR Team's boss was definitely on a mission to get his first podium of the season! A lap later, Geraxi decided to mark a pitstop, probably to change his tires that he overcooked on the barbecue a couple of laps earlier... And then the things went quiet for quite the last laps of the race. Donald was holding his lead strongly while L.Rydh was managing his 2nd place. System was also holding great to score his first podium of the season... The only change that could possibly come was from the 6th place, after holding it for 19 laps, Proxima saw a Dutch driver coming in his mirror to claim the ownership of the 6th place. And on the last lap, Kip got the best of Proxima for 6th. A couple of seconds later, the crowd started to roar as Donald finally claimed a well deserved maiden win! L.Rydh made probably the best championship operation by scoring the second place. Despite a little gap closure on the last laps, System remained strong against KingOfIce, and scored his first podium of the season in front of the reigning champion. Marks ends 5th for his first Ligue FR race, while Kip finished 6th in front of Proxima. Cyk, DLV and Nanex were completing the top 10. Out of the 15 drivers who started, everyone saw the checkered flag, bravo messieurs!

Now the league is entering its annual summer break, and won't come back until September 1st, where a classical combo will be awaiting the racers for the return with the XFR at Fern Bay! But the French community will not stay inactive, as the annual Summer Tour will take place for 3 rounds of crazy races with Flame_CZE's Lemon Culte, replica of the unkillable legendary Citroën C15. The rounds will be announced by the staff shortly, but we already know the dates, so take your diary and note these dates : 7th July, 21st July and 4th August. Until then, LFS France wish everyone to enjoy the summer vacations to everyone that will have the opportunity. For the others, you have no choice but to come racing the legend with us...
