Another potential lead here, Becky. A new magazine is looking for titles to commit to print, and it looks like they've an interest in LFS. It'd be a nice edge for a brand new LFS league to be covered by a brand new magazine. Empathic growing pains
OT: I am setup in England now. After I put a new power supply in my computer I found out that my 600 watt power supply was not big enough and my power on my Vcore was bouncing around over 5% causing my computer to crash. I bought a 700 watt power supply and everything seems fine now that I had to do another reformat due to the drives being corrupt. I have been using the computer now for a couple days error free so I think I am in the clear.
This being said I should be able to race this upcoming race =)
Great , do be sure to login to the STCC forums for all the latest info etc. Is there any news of your team mates? I was suprised to see no Muroc cars at all at round 1.
Hehe I lived in the UK for 3 years prior to this and my wife lives here =P We were having problems with getting her visa so we decided that I should just live in the UK. Bloody Americans and their stupid rules!
My car is still in the States but once I get a job here I am going to solve that and ship it. It's been just over a week and already I am having withdrawl symtoms and the shakes every once in a while because I can't drive my car =( Once it gets here I plan on doing some trackdays and get into some sprints.
well due to server problems weve had to move, the FXO heat has been on gone, won by J. Pickard (and i mean won, he was like a bloody rocket!), with yours truly in second
lots - we had 4 RB4 drivers, 6 (?) FXO drivers, 3 in the XRT, and there are 2 who missed the "heats" because of Pc problems (maybe more actually!) and will turn up to the big "feature" race
I won't win it hannu will get the win since he can do 30s most of the time i think DD has gone faster with a new set that hannu gave him (dam you hannu)
I had the pace for second, but I distracted myself, and crashed :@.
Oh well, a first in Heat 1A and a second in the Sprint, thats more than I expected, I expected backmarking all races, spinning, noobing meself, but I showed up, with no practice, and it worked.
Good race boys, I'll be losing until the next rallyX track :P
I really enjoyed the race tonight! But then, I came 2nd (provisionally, til Becky finds the bit in the replay where I ram everyone else off the track, and rocket off up the standings)
Tempers definitely seemed frayed at the end.. Rally always seems to do that to people. For me, it was just one of those occasions where everything MOSTLY came together right, just when it mattered. I couldn't compete for first - I can't do the burning bush thing - but I was really proud to make provisional 2nd.
Now we have to find out what happened to the STCC server. We're setting up some software in a few minutes, which will analyze network traffic, and then we'll see if we can map a fault or deficiency. I don't think it's actually a server/network fault, but we'll make sure.
Please would all drivers from this evening's race help us to build a traffic map for the STCC server. I've hijacked Bean0's thread (sorry bud!) on the STCC forum. Visit and post if you would, please!
We're also planning some stress-tests, so I'll be begging for help at some point this week.
Great stuff.. keep 'em coming. The initial suggestion was a bridge problem with BT (US and Hungarian traffic comes in to the UK on BT hardware), but Becky's on cable and got a disconnect, so that theory's already out of the window. Keep 'em coming, anyone who hasn't posted yet!
Could have been better, really. In the HeatC Race I was doing ok but right as I could attack Mike (who had fried his rear tyres at this point), I experienced a massive drop in fps and it was just undriveable. I don't know what caused it but I think it was the automatic Windows update notification, not certain though. So I drove slowly back to pits and after +/-1 min the frames were ok again.
Heat2 race was also one of these kind of races which you better forget. Again I was doing ok when Peter attacked me at the end of the start/finish straight, touching my car at the right back. I could recover it but at the entrance of the muddy part he tried again and turned me around.
Then the feature race had a similar situation again with Peter at the end of the start/finish staright where he also turned me around.
Usually Peter is a fair driver, at least I drove against him in ESCC and the 6h Westhill and nothing of this kind ever happened. I don't know what happened to him yesterday, he was unfortunatly overaggressive.
Well after the crash in the feature race I had to slow down cause I made a dumb error: I've didn't put enough fuel in the car to make 35 laps. Actually I don't know why, but I only put enough to make 30 laps, so I had to manage my fuel consumption.
