The 1st race of this year being promoted by SimBroadcasts went into record books in terms of attendance - the 245th RTFR repeated all time highest amount of qualifyers (40 - set in 100th RTFR) and set a new starters record - 39,beating the old record by 3 (from same 100th RTFR). Unfortunatelly the last chicane of yesterday's track worked hard to keep the highest finishers record of 35 in tact as only 30 drivers were classified as finished yesterday,still 2nd highest entry in stats tables.
The all-time RTFR most successful driver Botsi started the new year with quite dominant performance by scoring his 30th pole position in RTFR and leading every single meter of yesterday's 15 lap race to score also his 31st racewin and 56th top5 finish. His teammate R.Kardol was following him and despite falling back slightly in middle phase of the race,could still pull back the gap and finish just 0.79 seconds behind winner,which is repeated 23rd closest finish in RTFR history. The dutchman could steal fastest lap of the race during his chase,which is his 3rd and rounded up the count of his RTFR top5 finishes to 30. RTFR newcomer Trespasser advanced 2 positions to finish 3rd almost 10 seconds behind winner,J.Katila advanced even more positions (9) to finish 4th and score his 5th top5 finish,but top5 was completed by Falcon scoring his 37th top5 finish (all time 4th most).
In 2 weeks RTFR will continue with one of the slick tyre cars,more details can be found if carefully watching the stream recording in post above,otherwise full info will be posted as always in weekend before it. Before that next race,RGE will offer another option to race the RB4 - in monday before next RTFR 2nd round of 2021 AWS season will be run at the very short RX loop of Fern Bay RallyX Green - more info in AWS forum section!
