Preassigned grid
Hi

LFS is a great game when the car/track combination is ok.

It´s easy to make scripts that toggle thru cars and tracks,
and after that, join, put in a number of A1:s and start racing.

But, I would like to make "preassigned" grids,(combinations car/track and
a grid of A1:s(5-10) and player in the middle of the grid) that could be chosen just by
clicking different keybord shortcuts like Ctrl + F6. There could be shortcuts for Fast tracks, Town tracks, Rallycross e.t.c.

The player would then get the best out of the game; best car/track combinations.

Have any of You done this just using scripts?

You can save and load AI grids from the same place where you add/remove AI and join races. It's good for when I've spent some time making different grids for when I feel like messing around with AI and don't feel like re-adding all of the different cars with custom skins and setups every time. It doesn't set the track automatically though.
Hi

Ok, but how can you do this from a script?

MPlayer
there is no point in trying it with scripts
I think he wants to avoid using mouse.

Well, here are two methodes that do NOT work..
I tried a script like this:

/car xfg
/ai
/ai
/join
/ai
/ai
/ai

but it did not work:
"Avoiding multiple join requests.
(Maybe worth a bugreport, not sure)

I thought maybe it needs a bit pause, so made a program that waits for a seconde to delay the script:

/car xfg
/ai
/wait G:\delay.exe
/ai
/wait G:\delay.exe
/ai
/wait G:\delay.exe
/ai

but that did not help. Shrug
Purely with LFS scripts I do right now not see how it could be done?

You could bind /ai and /join commands to two buttons. That would at least allow to add an AI without using mouse, with button presses.
Hi

Thanks for trying, i also tried to pause, but with no success.
Some things just can't be done.
