Car artist,yeah,there are lot's of you,wannabe artists...

I was mostly joking about that. But just so you know, I'm pretty experienced in 3D modelling with Blender, an actual modelling program, not that Sketchup trash. I can give proof if you need it.

If they have read our suggestions, then it would make sense to say that they've seen our pleas to give us some kind of sign that they're still here. Yet both go unanswered.
I was quite confident that Blender was an exercise in "How hard can we make a UI", not 3D modelling

Hardy, hardy, har! Blender, is the best modelling program ever. If you're too lazy to learn some keyboard shortcuts (which is what Blender is based off of), you're too lazy to be posting on a forum.
I was kidding around. I've never been able to figure it out (mostly for a lack of trying) but I do acknowledge its power.
Blender does have a steep learning curve, especially for 2.49, but once you watch UI tutorials it becomes easy.

Here is some of my work:

If somebody can get me 3D formats of cars like the FZ5 (or give me a tutorial on how to get them into a format Blender accepts) I can probably give it my own "996 turbo" modifications.

and then you'll get flamed for modding cars. and having people tell you its against the rules. then again rules don't stop people so go for it

Well, discussion or distribution on the LFS forum is prohibited as per rules which reads
Quote :4) Any "mods" - modifications to the Live for Speed exe, must be discussed with a moderator before being released on the forum. If a mod is approved by a moderator, it may then be released in the appropriate section of the forum. Please do not contact a developer as we do not support mods and do not have the time to deal with them. Any mods which change the shape of a car model, or which allow online cheating or circumvent HLVC, will be rejected.

clearly vob mods aren't allowed. now if he only going to use it in blender then that doesn't effect LFS. but if he tries to use it in LFS then ya that will be a vob mod. doing a vob mod for lfs is lame with only 16k poly count so low res not worth wasting time on it.
Where's the trouble here? 3D artists have been modifying LFS car models for renders for a while already. It's just fantasy work, noone from them tries to made these as .vob and put in LFS.
PS. With "modifying" I didn't ment to put other car,but just altering shape of well known model - seen renders with XRT cabrios and pick-ups etc.
My intention is not to post the models here, I just want some "3D tuning" for personal use. FZ50 seems like a cool car to modify. If anybody knows how to get FZ50 (or any) models into Blender, that'd be great. There's some Blender all-car pack on the forum but it has thousands of files and I don't know which one is the FZ50 body.

That should be the best one you're looking for. It has "layers" set up for each of the cars as well.
Hmm.. I'm awful at Blender and was able to figure it out. I'll post a picture later tonight with how I did it

Hey, sorry to bother you (your personal messages are full apparently).

Did you ever figure out how to make cars show up in Blender? That part of the tutorial is unclear. Or I'm just stupid.

EDIT: http://puu.sh/57hTD.png

I am stuck at halfway. I press Control + L and select FZ50 but it doesn't show up..
Quote from pärtan :If you're using blender 2.49 there is a drop down at the top of the window where you got all the cars listed.

Yes I'm using 2.49b and your method worked.

Thanks a lot, sorry to bump this ancient thread.
