Hello, today I noticed eRacing banner at the top right banner and pressed on it. Immediately my anti-virus blocked the web site (2012.04.16 22:08:36| HTTP filter| archive| http://www.eracing.lt/ |JS/Iframe.DA trojan |connection terminated - quarantined| BENDRAS\Karolis |Threat was detected upon access to web by the application: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe.). Am I in danger? Anyone else getting this virus/trojan (please don't risk if you don't have a good anti-vir (I hope mine is good enough))?
Nothing happened when I visited.

I don't have any anti-virus shit installed though (not like you suddenly get infected :razz

Maybe it's time for you to switch over to a proper AV?
Yeah, mine blocked it too

I use ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4.2 and it's quite good IMO.

Insane - did you tried going there again? The second time I tried, everything was fine, no virus.
Does it only happen when you click the banner, or also when you directly access it. Also - tried different browsers?

He uses Internet Explorer, he probably has no idea it's not the only browser in the world
Works perfectly for me and as I see even for a people from abroad. So the problem is in your garden.
You must have been browsing through porn websites at the same time. Site works perfectly on Chrome and Firefox, and no viruses or threats we're detected both on Nod32 and AVG.

I've tried on school's computer, Avast also detected the trojan.

Think a little bit. If you can open the web site in other web browsers, that means they don't detect the threat and thus are unsafe.

Also, the second time I tried to open that web site, I had no error, so maybe your computer is already infected and doesn't notice that virus?

Or maybe there's no threat and IE is bitching just because it's a shitty browser?
Just another way to think about it. Especially considering IE's "reputation" in safety.
Computer magazine once wrote about newest web browsers and IE was safest. It blocked more infected web sites than Firefox or Chrome.
When was that article written? When the internet was invented?

I think at the last year's end or this year. It contained newest browsers (at that time): IE9, Firefox 6, Chrome 16 (or 18, don't remember). IIRC, IE blocked 7(or 9)/10 infected web sites, firefox and chrome - 4/10

Was this magazine released by Microsoft Press?
No. It was a magazine released by Lithuanians, but I don't remember the name tho.
What makes you think company that publishes it is not owned by Microsoft Press?
There is no hazardous thing on eracing.lt. As someone said IE is just bitchin' and fooling you around with warning windows. It's just because IE tracks some of elements as virus, but it's just a advertisements or something else. Antivirus is confused and making incorrect treatment and also confusing you.
The site is fine.

Please go.
