LFS Doesn't Start properly, and replays crash
Hello everyone.

I've been having an issue with LFS since I first installed it on my new pc a month ago: It doesn't start after the initial start once you install it. What I mean is, when I start LFS.exe, it starts up, blank. Nothing visually loads.

I've reinstalled LFS and unlocked several times.

This is from Dec 25, when I began having the issues.

I posted on another forum about this, so here's how far I've gotten:

Quote from chucknorris :The log looks fine. It seems like is started normally, but simply doesn't show a thing.
I would try these things one by one:
1. Toggle fullscreen when it's supposed to be running (shift+f4)
2. Move the card_cfg.txt out of the lfs folder and then try to start it.
3. Move the cfg.txt out of the lfs folder and then try to start it.

Quote from pfpdoodlez2009 :It works when I remove the cfg.txt, however it will return to it black state when I restart it.

So far I've had it working by opening one specific replay and then it works normally. However, this means I can't use some external programs like Steam. (ohnoesendoftheworldjk)

Also, another issue that I've had was when I would view a MPR, skip ahead a little bit, click on another user (to view that car) and then change view (pressing v) LFS would fade white and get the Windows 7 "LFS.exe has stopped working properly" and the only option would be to close it.

Hopefully I've explained this clear enough, if I need to explain further, I'm able to.

Thanks in advance.

Why starting LFS while running on 10% accu power, Firefox AND Chrome open, multiple times with god knows what (Flash?) and then even more programs I don't recognize the icon of..

It's beyond me. I really don't get it.

In the end it's probably the GPU driver. If anything is inside that box which deserves the name GPU. Noticed 'Samsung' somewhere, thats scary.
Go to Start - Run - type in 'dxdiag' and hit enter. Go to the screen tab and check if dxdiag have detected any problems, and that videocard drivers are properly installed.

You can also try upgrading your videocard drivers.
Maybe you should reinstall the game , I think this will solve the problem

Haha...There's literally no difference in performance with and without those programs running, believe me I've tested it.

I updated the out-of-date GMA driver (Intel isn't worthy of GPUness) and now I cannot start a race in single player with LFS, and I still have the other issues.

And sarxes, I've already reinstalled it several times as I previously stated. It does not work.
What hardware do you have?
Intel Core i5-2430m (2.4GHz HT, 3.0turbo)
6GB 1333MHz DDR3 RAM
640GB 5400RPM HDD
HD Graphics 3000 (when I play LFS I usually run a second screen, 2x1366x768, max settings, AAx4)

That should be all of the specs you need.
In one of the config files change the 'windowed 0' to windowed 1' then 'file save exit' run lfs change the screen to 1024x768 32 bit see if it will actually let you do this for gameplay.. if not then we will go t further lengths to get your lfs running!

Another thing! Can you download and install the newest chip set drivers for your motherboard, don't worry if you've done this already 'i want you to do it again! Also download and install the newest drivers for your graphics card uninstalling any software from within control panel first which have been put there for graphics utilities.

Once the chipset is installed and the graphics drivers make sure you leave the settings at defaul. (For testing)

Restart you PC and enter BIOS restoring all settings to default, just change the boot sequence to boot from the hdd that your windows system is on.

Give lfs a go at all the default settings! It 'should' work!

Download a complete new install of lfs from the main website installing it in a new folder different from the old one if it still won't load! Let me know what happens.

Default settings for everything is the key!
Alright, I don't have the time at the moment to download anything, I already installed new graphics drivers, and yes my chipset drivers are out-of-date, I'll need to take care of that later.

My graphics drivers are default, LFS is already set to "start windowed 1", like it always is and my BIOS should be default, this computer is new, I haven't had a chance to screw it up yet. :P
Well, I reinstalled LFS into a different partition of my hard drive, it worked fine for a day, then I woke up today to play some LFS and it didn't work, nothing works now.

I've done everything I've been asked (except update the bios, which is ridiculous imo) and LFS still doesn't work.

At this point, it works less than it previously did.
