Celebration of motoring at the Brno Masaryk Circuit reversed in Saturday afternoon in the tragedy. Italian racer Giorgio Bartocci is on Monday succumbed to injuries in the early morning after his horrific accident at the weekend race Lamborghini Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo.

EDIT: This information is from one Czech idi*t :-/. Bartocci is OK. I delete my post.
Sounds to me that he is alive an well? After seeing the picture of him standing with the marshals after the incident, I'd have a hard time believing he succumbed.

Good to hear. Wow.. scary stuff.
Woah. Good to hear indeed.

Here I was wishing a guy peaceful rest when he is alive.
This guy was really lucky ! Such an impressive accident ! In general we see things like that in rallye ^^

Anyway I'm wondering what his wife was making while he was racing...

Hopefully he CAN get a peaceful rest while alive! A life of conflict is bad, you know.

On a related note, is it just me or do GT series racing produce the worst crashes? You rarely see firey crashes like that in open-wheelers or touring cars. GT seems to have them several times a year.
Giorgio Bartocci flew away today at 11:00 am to Italia.

GT are just faster than touring car but if you wan you have lot of example of touring car crash in rallye ^^

Open wheel are quite dangerous like prototype (openroof ones) and we don't count all the prototyp who have already flipped like Peugeot 908, Audi R8, Courage-Oreca, Audi R10...But in these two class rules are quite hard about the fuel-tank which need to be in a safe zone just behind the cockpit in order to avoid these problems.

Well, now that you uttered your theory, I'd like to see something backing this up... Apart from the Corvette and the Lotus catching on fire in races in the past 30 days, which were the yearly fiery crashes you're speaking of?
Quote from samjh :
I have to concede that you may find more per race event for touring cars, if you searched on Google.

Probably because the races are shorter and the car allows you to go full contact, so people tends to take more risks? I have to say though, most of the accidents in Touring Car are "just" a push that ending up badly and 1 or 2 cars ending up in the gravel, which are not potentially dangerous for the human beings. On the other hand, a lot of the crashes in GT are mechanical problems at high speed, which have a lot more consequences usually.
24 hours of Le Mans .... 7 days before Quali
Well its almost heree. Petit Le Mans Anyone actually going?

And also ALMS returns to the Maryland region next year with the Baltimore race. Finally we get to see mid Atlantic ALMS racing since 2002.
Anyone knows if there is stream of the race?
That one just freezes after 10 seconds of streaming. Reloading works, for another 10 secs. Going to be a fun last hour
I urged my housemates to halt their pornographic downloads and the justin.tv does work, although not optimal yet

Edit: nvm, back home now watching motorsTV

Holy. Shit.

That was the most amazing last 10 laps I have ever seen. GT2 drama.

Ferrari running out of fuel on the final lap down the back straight. Vette won it. Just.

I love Endurance Racing. Sick race!
Quote from MoMo92i :First picture of Peugeot 90X...some strange things...

- big wheel at the front = hybrid?
- no HDI FAP stickers yesterday, but some today? petrol engine ()?

Quote :
The 90X was not running with its final engine configuration during the test. Peugeot is expected to use a hybrid power unit, and the team's technical director Bruno Famin said no definite decision on the engine type had been made so far.

"We are still exploring several options with regard to the engine and technology we will use," he said. "Work on the engine's development is ongoing.

I'm not a pug fan at all, but that car does look fantastic. Way, way better than the audi R15s.
What's with the pompous no. 1 tho, AFAIK they won jack shit at LM2010
