1024x768, 32bit, 4xAA, 8xASF
Quote from bdshan :I run @ 2048X1024 @75Hz AA & AF are set specific numbers I don't remember. I get about 40-60 FPS.

2:1 aspect ratio? WTF?
Dual monitor?
1600x1200 85 Hz. 8xAA 16xAF. Usually fps 85, with full grid 40+.

So flame me. I got the numbers wrong. I am old and my memory is not so good. 1280X1024 is that better?
I run 1280x960@100Hz. When I had my Parhelia I ran 3072x768@85Hz.

If you can't run at least 1024x768 with AA and AF enabled you must have some pretty old hardware.
Great movie in your signature there GabKicks...
Samsung SyncMastah 913N 19" flattie running 1280x1024 at 72Hz. No problemos in games, thanks to low latency.
#35 - JJ72
124200 x 865000 @ 128bit, 10X FSAA projected on my grandma's panties which I wrap around my head to an exact amount of 180 degrees.
Ewww, narrow screen.

WOW!

Same here.
1400x1050 @ 85hz, 2XAA and 8XAF on a Samtron 98PDF 19" CRT.
I just got a dell 24" widescreen... the lowest 16:10 resolution seems to be 1680x1050. My computer is struggling

was running 1024x768 on my 17" crt

Do you have skidmarks turned on?
I run at 1680x1050 16xAF and 4xFSAA, it struggle a bit with full fields on a couple tracks but otherwise it looks superb.

Up to a point resolution doesn't seem to effect frame rates all that much, don't run LFS at the lowest res assuming that it will get you the best fps. I mean it probably does but the next res up might only cost a few fps and look a whole lot better.
Also anything above 60fps is pointless imo, I'd be increasing picture quality through resolution, AF and FSAA till you can get something steady around the 60fps mark (I run a steady 50fps).
Can someone post the settings for the options in the game that will give best performance vs best image quality? The S2 menu touches on this but leaves a few things out.
1280x768 only
but !!!45" panasonic plasma screen

lol n1

1024@75 Hz with 8 ssaa and 16x aniso ... my crappy old 15" crt wont go any higher :/
I currently have 1280x960 and i'm going to raise it again soon purely for cosmetics, I was running at 1024x768 and to be honest there's no advantage other than prettyness. However there is a huge advantage to increasing your framerate as it helps you to control the wheelspin at the start of races.

Before I upgraded my PC I was getting about 25fps and I had to be very careful not to slip out sideways in the F3 (FOX), but now my PC runs the game at 100fps on max settings I find controlling the slide dead easy.

Currently 1152x864x32 at 75 hertz.

Obviously frame rate is the most important issue for playability, but if your getting 80 - 100+ then I think higher resolution is an advantage as it enables you to see reference points on the track and the side of the track more clearly I certainly notice the difference between say 800x600 and 1152x864 but then I need glasses
My dad doesn't need a big monitor. He hooked two up that connect. U can move the mouse from one monitor to the next! It's freaky.
