Next two seasons coming up in the OWRL
The Open Wheel Racing League is about to start some more races with the divisons schedule used previously. Two pre-season races will decide which drivers get to drive with the fastest car in Live For Speed, the Formula V8, whereas the rest will start with the Formula XR, but still with a chance of promotion if they can beat they competitors. This pre-season will lead into two seasons before the summer break. There will not only be a champion in each of these two seasons, but the OWRL also announces the big 2006 championship which will go throughout the year.

S2 MRT Club
But first let's look back at our previous season, the S2 MRT Club. The OWRL drivers proved once more the MRT is a great car for close racing and hard, but fair fights. The first two races at South City Classic and Aston Club rev deliverd a whole range of different winners, with Forbin getting the most points. However, at the final two races of the season, it was [PMT]*Papafant who dominated events, winning the sprint and main races at both the Fern Bay Green and South City Long events and thus he can add the trophy to his virtual trophy room. The others were left to fight for second place, and this was exactly what Speedykev and Willi did. In the end, Speedykev got the better of |DM| Willi with one point.

  1. [PMT]*Papafant - 163 points
  2. Speedykev - 132 points
  3. |DM| Willi - 131 points

Next Season
For the next season we will create two division, just like we did in S2 Season 1. However, this time the season is shorter, 4 races, and there will be no change of drivers between divisions during the season. This will happen after the season, and then we'll start the next season immediatly after that.
Now, to fully understand the system we use, it's best to view the graphical representation along with the text. We'll start with a pre-season consisting of two races in February. We'll use the Formula V8 in both races, first at Aston Historic, then at Westhill International. Drivers will be assigned randomly on the grids. The 20 best drivers, decided on points, will then be assigned to Division A. They will race in the FO8 in our S2 Season 3. The other drivers and drivers who join later on get to drive the Formula XR in Division B. Drivers who prefer to drive the FOX can be put on a list of drivers who will not be placed in div A, even if they would move up under normal circumstances.

Our S2 Season 3 champion will be the driver who performs best in the four races making up that championship, starting in March. He has to conquer among others the tracks of Aston National and South City Long reversed. As this season is over, the top seven of division B will move up to div A for S2 Season 4, which will have another four races at tracks like Aston Grand Prix and Westhill reversed. The number of seven might be more if div A drivers decide to stop during the first season. S2 Season 4 ends in June.

2006 Championship
At the end of 2006, we'll announce the best 2006 driver. This will be the participant who got the most points when we combine the standings of all our major seasons, including the two we are about to start. To win this prize, the driver does not only need to be fast. Consistency and motivation for all of 2006 will be just as important, as every race of all major seasons will count.
