I'd say drift is getting interesting (and provides proper video making material) when there's 2 or more cars on the track...

I'm pretty torn on the subject to be honest with you... I can post some replays I think you all would enjoy but most of it is from league events (IGTC, MoE, LOTA, LFSWS) so it may not have non-stop action but it's more meaningful than a pick-up race on CTRA.

Now Phase 2 of the project looks dialed in and I'm happy with it, 2 minutes is perfect. Phase 1 on the other hand does seem to be the problem child thus far... I personally believe that if you are going to have a editing competition, everyone should use the same mpr. I feel the fair way to do this is to vote on a list of replays and the winner will be used for the competition.

Lastly we could try and schedule a race in which we all join a server and do 1 lap sprints. We should all drive more aggressively than we normally would to make the racing as action packed as possible. If we had 10 drivers pushing to the limit, then I think this would be the best choice... I'd say if we chose the best 3 - 5 replays, that should be the perfect amount of footage. I'll go ahead and tell you that if we decide to let everyone use their own MPR, I will be doing something similar to this...

The editing competition you are talking about is the fase2 video contest? If soo...yes we are using only one replay...the most voted one from fase 1.
But the main problem for me now...is we have more than 20 replays...because polls only have 20 spots.

Also, there is no way you should have 20 replays to choose from... When you start the poll it should be narrowed down to like 5, or 10 at the most.

Well at this point you seem to be running the operation so... Maybe you could?

The thing is that if you have 30 people send in replays, do you actually think your average voter is going to view all 30, or even 20 for that mater? I know I probably wouldn't, if I'd watch 10. Plus you know your going to get a lot of MPRs that really have no right even being submitted for the contest, thus wasting everyones time. It would be nice to have a judge, or multipul judges to help keep the contest in control. Just like a league race has an admin, so should the contest.

Well.... i would like the help of squidhead if he got some time to look at some replays.... and you Nolan .... or anybody else that has good experience in lfs and video editing.
I ccould be one of the judges....no biggie.

People can now start to save replays if they think they will be good enough for this event, although any patch Y replays will be fine.
On May 1st I'll create a thread - one post per member, containing their replay download links and notable highlights of the race for people to look atspecifying the time and the drivers involved.
Please only good replays!!
After the 15 of May, replays will be judged ( Mp3Astra, Squidhead and me) to a Top 5. Then a poll containing the top 5 will be created, and will last for 15 days.
After the Storm Racing Video Contest deadline is finish ( 1st of June), The
Comunity video Phase 2 begins.
Remember :

Phase 1

Best MPR
- posting time=15 days ( starts on May 1st)
- actual patch
- time= minimum 5 min.
- 5 cars minimum
- 1 replay/post per member with info.
- Top 5 judging
- voting system
- Everyone is allowed to enter or vote once.
Phase 2
Best replay Video
- starts on 2nd of June
- Use only the replay winner.
- Must be 2 to 3 minutes long.

Well... the thing is.... the goal here is to find the best multiplayer replay from this online racing simulator, to then try to make the best video out of that mpr.
Soo the mpr must be at least 5 minutes long in order to have enough material to work with doing the video. But if you think your crash replay is just unbelievable good, one of a kind that shows nicely the fisics of LFS, looks real and that maybe in slowmotion it could be easly be turned into a 2 minute video.... in that case i guess you can give it a go and post it on the other thread.

Btw...i've change one thing in the rules....Now the MPR minimum is 5 minutes.

And btw...btcc is for me one of the best races in terms of action, just great. I used to watch the 2005/2006 seasons.
