I think I have looked everywhere in the setup but I haven't seen anything that I recognize that might turn off the names over the cars (which weren't there in demo mode -- I just bought the S2 license)

Can it be done?

just press the "n" key until it says "names off"!

And if you want to turn off everything on the screen, just hit SHIFT + F
