Event Specifics
1. Alerting the Administration:
Use @sc to alert administration to look at your car or the section of track you were in when you use the @sc command. The command will tell the administration what location you're at.
2. Communications:
All drivers are required to be in the NDR TeamSpeak server: teamspeak.newdimensionracing.com - Race Control messages will be broadcast to anyone in a channel in the Pit Wall in TS. If you would like a subchannel for your team or friendly drivers, please let us know and we will create one.
Make sure you have your race number and/or your LFS username as your nickname on TeamSpeak
3. Driver Naming:
Your in-game name should be consistent across all rounds this season. The car number should always be the start of your in-game name - red colour for P2, and blue colour for GT3 class cars. After a blank space, have your name as either F. Last or an easily identifiable nickname. You do not have to use your real name - you are able to use a reasonable pseudonym.
Example: 513 J. Palmer
You should keep your name in white/no colour so that the class marking stands out.
4. Virtual Safety Car
There will be a Virtual Safety Car deployment in the race, and it will be called between the 15th and 45th minute of the race. Should a natural cause for VSC occur at any point, that will take the place of the planned VSC.
Reminder: You must be AT or BELOW the declared VSC speed of 80 kph / 49 mph WHEN THE VSC IS ACTIVATED. You should slow to this speed as safely as possible within the 5-second countdown.
5. Pit Entry and Pit Exit
On pit entry, all parts of the car must be to the RIGHT of the white blend line.
On pit exit, all parts of the car must be to the RIGHT of the white blend line.
6. Qualifying Procedure
No qualifying for this round. Random gridding, P2s starting ahead of GT3s.
7. Race Start:
The race will have TWO unscored formation laps, followed by a double-file rolling start.
Drivers are to leave the false grid in single file behind the safety car. P2 class will follow the SC once the LFS lights turn green. GT3 class will follow the SC at the call of Race Direction.
During griding, the pole sitters for each class will be asked what side of of the grid they would like to start from. All other drivers should file in accordingly.
For the first formation lap, and until Turn 5 on the second formation lap, the SCs will drive up to a maximum of 130 kph / 80 mph. During this time, drivers should maintain single-file structure. Tyre warming is PERMITTED during this time - with caution.
Drivers who spin or otherwise lose position on the formation lap may NOT recover their original grid position, and must start where they rejoin. EXCEPTION: P2s will be permitted to overtake any GT3s they may fall behind, but only at the call of race direction.
On the exit of Turn 5 on the second formation lap, the safety car will reduce speed to 100 kph / 60 mph, then slow to 80 kph / 49 mph by entry to the chicane. All drivers should form into double file exiting the chicane. The safety car will pull into pitlane, and the class leader and all other drivers should maintain approximately pit lane speed up until the green flag signal is given. Overtaking is permitted once the green flag is called.
ONE GREEN FLAG MESSAGE PER CLASS - Each class is a seprate start.
In the event of an aborted start, drivers should maintain pace until Turn 1, and then return to single-file formation for another attempt. The race director will then instruct drivers if there are any changes to the start procedure.
Race timing starts at the end of the second formation lap - either at the first green flag, or abort message.
8. Safety Car:
On Restarts, the Safety Car will pull away from the field after Turn 5 (where possible). It must not be overtaken before it crosses the 1st Safety Car line.
Overtaking is not permitted on SC restarts until YOU have crossed the start-finish line.
The race director has the discretion to operate a safety car wave around procedure as documented in the regulations.
9. Compulsory Pit Stop
All teams are required to make one pit stop during the course of this race. There is no required service, just that you make a complete stop in your pit box and get it registered.
10. End of Race
After finishing the race, please slow WELL BELOW racing speeds after Turn 1 and proceed back to the pit lane. The top 3 in each class shall report to the start/finish line.
11. Miscellany:
Do NOT under any circumstances Shift+P or Shift+S from on course during the race without authorization from Race Control.
You do NOT need permission to retire once you are in the pit lane.
If you suffer a lost connection or timeout from the server, you are permitted to rejoin the race, and we will add your completed laps to your car once you've rejoined.
Stop & Go penalties may ONLY be taken from the penalty box located at the location noted above.
Please post any procedural questions in this thread.
Good luck!
