monaco circuit is clearly not suitable for F1 cars today, but it is impossible to drop it, so what we can do is make some addon on it, 2 pit stop is a test but not work hear is some of mu idea:

1.push back chicane

back to 1972 layout, a longer straight after tunnel, so we can have a real straight & 1 more DRS zone

2.special tire compound
toto said it is impossible to pass until u have 4.5s benefit, so we need a tire that at lease 5s slower than C6, we just call it C0, but we wont want to see a ultra hard tire can run full race, so, C0 should be very slip but with short life, just little bit longer than C6, maybe same life as C4-C5
so, in monaco, we will only have 2 tires choice but not 3: C0 & C6, 1 is super soft that can 5s faster but with very short life, 1 can have a normal short stint life but ultra slip

3.joker lap & attack zone
what Rus want to do is a very good idea: get a short cut but get penalty in other place, it make more place change possible to make more Strategy on track but not only in pit stop

I wont make it "everyone can take XX times shortcut" because it will limit the change it can make, I prefer joker lap to active short cut approve, just like joker lap in FE, e.g. every times u drive joker lap 2 times, u will get 1 time to take short cut, no times limit, more joker lap u go, more short cut lap u gain

joker lap(active zone) can just copy FE, in the outer side of casino, short cut have 2 choice: make a faster & shorter little chicane inside nouvelle chicane, or just through inside of T1

I think realistically nothing can be done.
The cars are too large and too fragile.
As you said, just not suitable.
Jokerlaps, tire tweaks, shortcuts etc. feel too artificial.
Any "solution" will be silly and it is uncertain if it would even work.

Maybe it would be better to drop it as an official race and instead run some special event.
F1 drivers but in Gokarts or something like that.

Luckily this weekend there was also Spa Classics, with interesting cars and actual racing.

None of these are an option, people maybe just should accept one of the races on calendar is like this and stop trying to come up with stupid gimmicks like joker laps or the 2-stop thing this weekend.

As long as it's a championship race, it should have the same rules and format as all the other ones.

What should change is the size of cars, but i don't think the 2026 is going far enough.

I don't think there's any "improving Monaco". Pushing the chicane forward would probably help, but there's not enough space to make a slow chicane near Tabac. A fast one wouldn't help either.

But you know what? We already have 20+ races in the calendar. We have all sorts of tracks and many with easy overtakes.
I'm actually ok with having one track (or two, if you consider Singapore) where Saturday is the ultimate challenge. That qualify was great.

The forced 2 stop strategy also created some funny moments as well as Mercedes doing the dumbest strat with 4 pit stops in the last 8 laps

Monaco is fine. There are series that can overtake there. Formula E for instance. The issue is not the track as it is, that has been rather unchanged for decades, the issue lies in the F1 cars themselves. They are way too big and aero-dependant. And while there has been something done in the regard of 'too hard to follow closely', the cars are still just too big and heavy for what they should be. Solve this and you will get reasonable amount of overtaking.
