Thanks a lot for your constructive feedback. I'll have a look into these issues.

Nevertheless, I kindly invite you to edit the layout to your likings.

EDIT: Updated the layout file according to your suggestions – 847 objects now. Cool

So this is my first layout for the reboot of Blackwood.

It may be not the fastest but a nicely flowing track through the industrial estate area. Should be fun in the smaller cars, and to be fast – which I am not – very precise driving is the key. You should always mind the unforgiving kerb!

Lap times should be around the 3 minute mark; I did a 2:49 in the Raceabout. Feel free to post your times here!

Races for up to 6 people are possible, but be careful during overtaking, the circuit is twisted and narrow! But now: Have fun! Cool

Great new adds and I appreciate the track update! Definitely uses some more accuracy around the new "sausage corners" like the forum so eloquently dubbed them. Razz

I just wanted to test a quick layout I made around the new Blackwood industrial park and it seems I can't get to start the lap timing because I'm no longer able to set a starting line (the pink one). All I cand find is the yellow line for the finish. Are there possibly any differences to the autocross editor in the new build?

Just in case it's me in error I attached the file – could anybody try adding a starting line here? Thumbs up

It's me again ... Wink Some pics from the Oldtimer Grand Prix at the Nurburgring last weekend – as you can see it's not always old that shines. Razz

I had the pleasure to shoot the Cayman S of a friend recently. Pretty satisfied with the outcome. Smile

When I tell you that Frankfurt is less than two hours away from the Nordschleife it all becomes clear. Big grin

Let's try to get some pics again...

Good idea! Nice nighttime cityscape you caught there! Thumbs up

I went for some ultra slow shutter panning action recently:

This was exposed one fifth of a second with the additional help of a tripod misused as a monopod. Razz

Quote from Gutholz :(Automobilista I have not tried. Appearently owners of GSCE got it for free. But I had bought GSCE on DVD when by random I saw it for reduced price in a real store, so I think then it does not work.)

You could try to contact the devs and explain your situation. They tend to be quite nice, maybe you're lucky and get a discount. Smile

For Automobilista, I've just scratched its surface after several hours of both GSCE and AMS. It's a real grower for me. Especially in the sound department it's a blast!

As partying and driving don't go so well together that shouldn't be much of a problem. A glass of wine and pizza & pasta will be all we need! Big grin

Thanks a lot for your detailed answer! Thumbs up

What do you mean by "youngsters"? We're both approaching our mid-thirties and people around this age or older are perfectly fine. Tilt

There seem to be quite some events at the time like Cars & Coffee or the Mille Miglia. Has anyone visited these as a spectator or do they only make sense for participants?

I really look forward to driving the roads you mentioned! Smile
Roadtrip to Northern Italy

S3 licensed
Hey folks! Smile

My girlfriend and me plan to going on a roadtrip to Northern Italy this May for two weeks. Our main destination will be the Emilia-Romagna and Bologna region with the Lambo factory as one of the highlights. As we'd really like to get to know some nice and local people it's unlikely we'll check in at a hotel.

There is maybe one tiny restriction: The car of choice isn't exactly appropriate for narrow and bumpy streets and alleys, so staying in an old town wouldn't be too helpful. Razz Something rural but at the same time not too remote would be perfect.

So here's the question: Is there anybody in here that can give some good advice on where two petrolheads should go and stay?

After three little years here comes another skin (which is more like a bodykit) for the much beloved Raceabout! Wink

It's called "Black Edition" and comes in white, blue and red. Other colours will be possible which is why I attached the template, too. But regarding the contrasting parts the selection I supply you with works best.

I just uploaded the high-res (4096 px) version of this sky to TinyUpload.com: http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=27805230618914672294

Could anybody test if it works?

I found the thread were you got the texture and found some other good textures.Thumbs up I built a new sky for afternoon / evening, for example for "cloudy afternoon" driving @ Kyoto.

Here some pics of my first made sky:

Most sky textures of this source seem to be generated in a 3D software which makes them look quite artificial, at least the dawn ones. Quite entertaining, but for the same reason not overly realistic and a bit too overdrawn if you bring the rather toned down original LFS graphics to your mind. Nevertheless, they somehow work with the textures you're using. Did you post-process any of the screenshots?
