NHN is also looking at setting up a 24/7 Live For Speed server, pending community interest. Hi all, long time no see

I totally agree with any graphical updates. Don't get me wrong though, i'm not saying LFS looks bad, but it does look pretty outdated.

At what point enhanced graphics deters from this game i'm not quite sure? As stated, if your PC can't handle it update your 1986 PC! No really, most games ("simulators" for the pedantic) have the option to turn up or turn down graphics, as LFS already has.

The only thing enhanced graphics brings to the table is the ability to race on the best simulator available WITH tasty graphics.

With that being said, i certainly don't aim to have graphic improvements infront of any more important improvements. All in due time.

Hey all, well it's been a while since i've played LFS. I went to play multiplayer today and it says host is using a different patch. I have 0.5U11.

So where's the latest patch that all the servers are using? I didn't want to download a patch from the 'test' section... because it's a test section...

Worst. 1 minute of my life. Ever.

I don't quite get what it does?? What does it accomplish?

I had a great time the first time i played in the Cops & Robber server. I went to have another game in there the other day, joined the server and discovered that the cops no longer have access to the FXR illepall What the hell is the point in being the cop if you don't get the faster car then everyone else?

Got bored in 2 mins then left. Was much more fun when the cops had their own specific car.

I'd define "defending your position" as taking the inside line during corners, not giving up your line to let the guy behind you take it.

I'd define "blocking" as constantly weaving infront of the guy behind you to not let him pass.

I'm probably unknowingly agreeing with you here... but I thought it was to do with the amount of packet information being sent to the server? i.e; the client only sends limited amount of information to the server about steering wheel location therefore resulting in less information having to be sent, resulting in less bandwidth needed.

I may be crazy, but when i've hosted a server with local people with good connections and ive had the packets set to '6', the steering seems a lot smoother then most servers. Or maybe it's just my imagination/hope illepall

Definately +1 if there's a way to make it smooth for play back

Semi off topic and semi not even serious, but; what about if you dive into the kitty litter (sandpit) and when you come back out, you have crap in your brakes and it starts squeeling and you have to jab the brakes to get the crap out. And it could even spark!

Don't worry about some of the tools on here who have never made a video in their lives but are quick to criticise. There is alot of video editing talent on this forum and i guess the standards are raised so high that it's hard to get a break. Chin up

FYI, the only noise a wastegate will ever make is a "RRRRROOOOAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!" when the turbo has produced enough boost pressure. A wastegate is always closed while the throttle is closed.

The "chu-chu-chu-chu" noise you're talking about comes from the turbo, not the wastegate. Which you indicated knowledge of in the second part of your sentence; "the choke of the turbo when the blades stall.."

You'll find the ProRacingRoom is the most populated Aussie server. They usually run the GTR cars, but they change the combos quite regularly. If you're looking for a bit of drifting keep an eye out for the [Ts3]Drift server

If he gets banned then he gets banned. Whether it's by the Wrecker Barricade or by Admin bannings. I can see a possibility of admins being a-holes and banning someone just because they don't like them, but as Scawen said in the thread linked above, it would be a wise decision not to return to that same server... find a different server where you get along with everyone.

Rooble, i noticed you in Cops&Robbers server (great fun btw) and you weren't really obeying the rules of the server. I think perhaps you used the cop car when you weren't a cop at one point and you also were ramming the cop cars, perhaps? Sorry if i'm wrong about any of this, there were quite a few people not obeying the rules and i may be getting you confused with others breaking the rules.

Put the file in your /LFS/DATA/SND directory.

Backup your original "dumpvalve.raw" sound file so you can go back to it. I usually just rename it to "dumpvalve(old).raw". Put the new file in your SND directory as i mentioned and it should be right to go. You need to restart the game.
