I've been hacking away at an auto-x layout of my own and it's one I have actually driven but I've run into a snag. I'm having alot of difficulty getting the course to the correct scale.

Is there any easy way to measure the distance between objects in the editor? I have a map of the course with distances drawn in from one of my walks.
Changing the way shifters work with LFS?

I have a 6-speed shifter I built for use with my driving rig and it works very well except for it has some minor problems with LFS.

All of the games I've used it with so far (GTR, GT Legends, etc) keep the car in gear once you click the shifter in place. You can move the shifter out of the gate and it'll stay in gear until you lock it back in another gate (it doesn't go into neutral when you move the shifter.)

In LFS it goes into neutral as soon as I move it which really sucks because if I put my hand on it in preperation for a shift or if I get too excited and bump the area with my leg it will drop out of gear and I have to put the clutch back in so it shifts back in... very irritating.

Aside form revising my shifter so it's much stiffer is there any way to just make LFS hold the gear you select until you hit another?

Quote from Takumi_Project.d :yes that happens to me also i usually go into the autox editor and hit the clear button to get rid of the objects, save it as named "blank" and then set it to default. not sure if there is a better way

Dang, enver thought of that, thanks! Is there also a way to get a list of layouts available for that track in-game, or do you just have to remember the layout names?

After you guys create a layout and save it, is it loading by default whenever you load that track? I have a couple in my layouts directory and when I load a track I've done a layout for, it loads that layout automatically and I have to do a "/axclear" in order to get back to the default track.
Starting a small server, question about layout loading.

I've started up a small 10 slot server for a few friends and I to race on and so far everything is going well. Everyone can connect, the pings are good, the grass is green, and all is good.... except layouts.

I've downloaded a few layouts (auto-x courses, ramp cross for Blackwood, etc.) and placed them in the layouts folder but whenever I select a track and join in, it's automatically loading the first layout for that track. I can use /axclear to unload it then go back to the normal layout for the track, but it's irritating and I don't want to give admin privelages to everyone that plays on the server.

Is there a way to have the server load up the default layout for that track instead of the first alternative layout it finds?
