1) KY GP in the GTR's
2) keep the offroad out. It's not propper racing (and Iam rubbish).
3) Don't put the MRT in south town as it is too easy to get stuck.
I liked it. Picture was reasonable. On;y comment (apart from the cameras) was that we don't know what positions people are in. The resolution for me is such that I cant read the text in the bottom right. Hope the commentry works for next time so we can get a feel for the race as a whole
I've been after a race frame for some time but space was a problem. After much head scratching I came up with a 2 part collapsable scheme where the chair folds under the wheel. It seems to work. If it doesn't collapse in a couple of weeks I will paint it in the FLR colours. (FPR are the team at the back of the grid if you havn't seen us out there).
Photo quality a bit poor but I only have a phone for digital photos.
I've managed to get one from Eclipse computers in Coventry. Never heard of them before and they appeared on page 4 of a google search using the manufactures referance number. It should be here on Tuesday - YIPEE!
Probably the wrong place to post but it's worth a try.
I am currently building a frame. It's coming along nicly but I can not finish it until my new G25 wheel arrives. I've had it on order for ages but everyone is out of stock.
Can any of you with the G25 send me dimensions os the parts including wheel angle and height of shifter stick.
I agree with MRodgers. My lap times are a fair bit slower than others but if you can make the 5 or so laps without crashing and pitting you can get to the podium. LFS is a simulator so the less time spent beaming to the pit for a restart the better.
Mine's a Skoda Octavia (see avatar). It's about 10 years old so the original 90 bph has trailed off to nearer 70. It was so fast I had to slow it a bit with the addition of a roof box which also makes it look cool don't you think. Oh the joys of middle age fatherhood! Its why I like LFS so much. Escapism into a world that exceeds 100 bhp and does not include the M1, A1, M25 etc etc.
Have you tried to get out of the way of faster drivers coming down to T1? Check mirrors and pull over a bit and the four cars behind come through side by side and you still get shoved off. Remember it is possible to lift off a bit at the start to see what the car in front is going to do instead of glueing your foot to the floor. It also gives a lot more scope to hang back a bit to avoid the carnage that often appears at T1. The other night this paid off and I was in second for a whole half lap before I got caught!
Us noobs do need experiance (or all the good drivers will run out of opponants).
How about sorting the fast from the slow on the grid. I don't know how the positions are selected but I occasionally find myself on row 1 or 2 and this is when problems occur as I can't pull away as fast as some drivers behind me who either run into the back of me (careless) or I get overtaken on both sides at the same time - also a recipie for disaster.
The grid position should be on a basis of number of races won for track car combo and not fastest lap. (I get reasonable laps but not two in a row!) This would mimic a qualifing period and enable everyone to get straight to racing.
The elite should also realise that a race is not won on the first corner. A bundle into T1 always causes probs so best to hang back by one or two seconds and overtake one car at a time rateher than several.
I went to Nottingham 92-95 and read Civil Engineering. Great place with great nightlife (or was then). Married with 2 kids now so don't really go out at all!
Judging by Tristan Cliffe's number of posts the work load at Brunell is not to bad so it may be worth a try!
Blimey! Seems as if there are a few points of view on this.
I have tried the pit spotter and like it a lot. I only really need it on the Oval with the V8's as this is where people are in the blind spot for longest. It is not as benificial in normal races.
One thig I try to do now (especially on the oval) is to keep a constant line if there is somone close on my inside. If they get past me on the corner I can quickly tuck in behind them for a tow down the next straight and get back in front for the next corner.
I have been having problems with seeing / hearing other cars when they are just on my rear quarter and seem to cut them up. I have tried using the "look" keys byt by the time the view has moved round it is often too late. It also makes judging the corner exteremly hard. Does anyone know if it is possible to adjust the angle of the side mirrors to enable a better view of the blind spots.
