Quote from Marki :Another video which shows tyre deformation in action.
This time throughout a whole lap onboard with Szabolcs Róbert (LFS name:ProexRobi, who is Norbi's team chief btw) in a Renault Clio racing car, where one of the 4 cams facing backwards shows the right front tyre and suspension as the car goes into corners and riding on kerbs at the Hungaroring.
According to Norbi they used to set 2.1-2.2 bar in the Pirelli 195/45 R16 tyres which goes up to some 2.7 during a race.

Quote from TagForce :Ah, but F1 teams sign a contract obligating them to send a telemetry feed to the FIA for broadcasting purposes. The feed you see on TV is actually a low quality telemetry read out from the actual engine status. It goes haywire sometimes because the quality is so low that like in LFS sometimes lag occurs and the feed kinda 'warps' all over the track.

are you sure? i was convinced the rpm was derived from accoustic analysis..

Quote from VOSS :Actually they do, and there is a cut... but the whole gearchange process is automatic. When the driver selects the next gear with the paddle behind the wheel, the electronics kill the ignition on the spark plugs, and momenterally reduce the load on the gears. The hydraulics engage the next gear, without the clutch being used at all, and then the ignition is turnd back on and the full throttle acceleration continues. This whole process from being flat in say 3rd gear, to being flat in 4th gear takes about 30 miliseconds

there are seamless shifts now but i don't think bmw are using it.

i also play with kb stabilised and i'm very competitive driving the fwd cars at tracks i know. i'm pretty good with 4wd's too but it's hard to catch a slide when the tail drifts out.

the biggest problem with kb is consistency because u can't make small corrections and thus if u screw up a line into a corner u will suffer a lot more than if u had a wheel and pedals. making a little mistake with kb results in a big penalty.

the 2nd biggest problem with kb is racing against other people. swerving to avoid hitting other cars or to simply make an overtaking manouver is hard because you're not in "complete" control of the car.

u will never become as consistent as u could be with a wheel but practice makes perfect though
