Quote from xapexcivicx :Gunn, there are more then plenty of suitable drift courses in the US. But they choose the Irwindale speedway (They do, right?) And I think Raceway park here in NJ, because it is a challenging track, with many twists and turns

Silly Apex, Raceway Park (englishtown) is for the kickass clubloose events. Come out to one maybe I'll go sometime too. And it's at the paddock, not on the track, so its sort of like autox with the local drivers (can you say matt petty, jr, colin, and brian) kicking it every month. Formula D NJ is at Wall Speedway. which is like an oval with a little pass through to make like a figure 8...

Back on topic, I think the tracks we have in LFS are, for the most part, a lot better than the tracks in real life. Sorry, but I'd much rather drift at Aston than at a track like Irwindale or Wall Speedway.

If any of you guys played forza, you might remember a uphill downhill mountain-type road. I think something like that would be suitable for LFS

i usually like a high power value on the lsd, like 65-70% or so, so torque is transferred to both drive wheels.
i like a low coast value because when its higher, the car tends to understeer on entry...i have it around 15-20%

yeah, there's these whistle things you can mount in the exhaust to make it sound like a bov

im not too sure about the reasoning behind it, but i know for a fact that atmospheric bov's are more prone to stalling on deceleration (without proper tuning) than a recirc bov.

edit: sorry for bumping the old thread, didnt notice.

check out www.lfs-torque.net. the ADA drift competition was just finished this weekend, and the Saiko D Special Competition is in the works to start in march or so. There is also PDS which has just started to form, and may take place in late march or april.

Sounds like a good idea rev.
I don't usually hang around these board often, but I can be reached at www.lfs-torque.net (Sil80Style), or by MSN (PM me for MSN).

I'm currently the team leader of RS*R, and I may be available to teach (still getting information from revmonkey about the hours and such). I think this is a great opportunity to showcase the drifting community, and to also sharpen drifting skills. Drifting skills may improve driving ability as well, by teaching the driver to control slides.

If any of you guys see me around on a server, feel free to ask for tips or any help!
