I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to implement a check engine light on the dash

My comment was mostly aimed towards the side/wing mirrors. As you'd like to see who is beside you before and during a turn. I've been spun out so many times it isn't even funny any more.

And i'm sure the majority of us can cope with a few FPS drop. I mean i'm running a mid range PC from 2006 and everything is on max details, resolution and in a race full of 30 people I still max out the framerate

Also would be cool if you can adjust them for wider angle, as you can in real life.

Also i'm not holding my breath for anything to happen. I know the team probably have plenty of other stuff they would rather be doing.

Quote from XCNuse :Dunno about you put I want to see some psychic improvements!

Me too. I want to know when someone plans to crash into my car on T1, and every other corner

I agree. We need more realistic mirrors, especially side mirrors. It will help prevent crashes, as less blindspots and better visibility.

Here's an update. I've pretty much got my settings perfect. Profiler is set to 102%, and in game at 15%. For me, this gives me enough feedback when travelling over bumps, and on the kerbs but at the same time making the steering more realistic. And somehow the auto centering after turning the wheel has disappeared, so its all good!

In game 25
Profiler 110

yeah i flipped it and got no resistance so i guess its working properly. It still feels kinda heavy though, but i don't want to lose the ffb. do i have to compromise here????

yes ill try those settings you have suggested. im not too sure how to flip the car, but yes if i oversteer and let go of the wheel it will counter-steer on its own.

My G25 arrived today!! Its ****ing great. Now there's plenty of grip!!!! But a few things are quite annoying though. like the unrealistic force feedback intervention when straightening up from a slight turn. It shakes it back into the centre. why??? Also is it normal for the wheel to hold itself so stiff. I need to put considerable effort just to turn the wheel. I know i can lower the ffb setting in game, but then i won't feel any of the bumps in the road. I guess i just have to play around with the settings. Right now iv'e got 900 degree rotation, 101% ffb on the profiler, spring effect and damper effect at 0%. And i have left centering spring off. I'm not too sure what's a good level for the in game ffb strength.

Quote from JasonJ :What are your controller settings? I couldn't get a decent deadzone unless I used: (Wheel Turn Compensation: 1.00)

Wheel Turn: 90°(anything more results in big oversteering)
Wheel Turn Compensation: 1.00 (anything less results in over-sensitive dead zone)
and
Analog Steer Smooth 0.80 (this is user preference, less will make movement sluggish but less sensitive)

Tried Remove Deadzones Yes/No in controls setting, Axes/FF menu?

Thanks Forbin :-)

Yep, I have got pretty much exactly the same settings. The "remove deadzones yes/no" didn't do anything at all to help. I've been trying to get the xbcd drivers to work, but vista 64 is a pain in the ass. I've given up. Unless anyone good at programming knows how to implement a deadzone directly through the game?

Good Stuff!

Also im somewhat getttting used to using the gamepad, even though there is literally no deadzone in the steering.

can i ask another question. when using the g25, does the ffb work constantly whenever there is a bump in the road? or is it only if you go on the grass or gravel? also does the intensity vary?

I can't wait. It's taking forever!!!!!

hahaha. i just got S2! i can't believe what ive been missing out on. Also my G25 is due in sometime tomorow. I'll use some of the advice, but also im not too sure why you say its the tires overheating, because the problem is apparant from the very start of the race. Although it does get worse later on of course. Thanks.

Quote from arco :Feeling like you're driving on a thin layer of ice? Yep, I feel that too. And more and more with each patch it seems. The last time I felt really good grip on the road was in patch Q (best patch ever!). Just hope there will be more grip in the future.

yeah thats what's going on with me. are you using a gamepad by any chance?

I don't know but i never used to get this problem. It's like there is no friction at all between the tires and the road. I re-downloaded it again from the official website last week. Im quite confused and annoyed. I was even thinking of buying S2, but not until i get this sorted out.
very unrealistic handling!

I've been playing this for about a year on and off. Last year when i first installed it everything was great, then i had to reinstall windows. I've been very busy with work and exams, but now i've installed the game again and it seems whatever car i use, the handling is shit. It's very un-natural when turning. The best way i can describe it is by saying the car does not feel planted on the road. I have not changed any setups and am using the same x-box 360 controller as before. BTW im also waiting on a G25 delivery. So i never used to have these problems when i first starting playing. Could anyone help me out please. Thanks.
