Maybe this doesn't belong here, but any way we can get the high-beams to be brighter? They don't do much to get someone's attention since they're more like parking lights. Would think that might be an easy improvement to sneak in.
Shifting problems

Quote from [Audi TT] :I have this happen that, after restarting the computer settings and keyboard steering stray LPS z31. Wheel Logitech MOMO Racing. But it happens every time. Windows 7 SP1 84-bit. Before, I did not notice this.

Similarly, not sure if it was related to the new patch but never had this happen before. Old PS2 Logitech Driving Force Pro on Win Vista 64, Z31 patch, suddenly could not shift anymore. Restarted PC, restarted game, no effect. Buttons were recognized both in the Logitech Profiler and also in the Options menu of LFS, but still could not shift. Ultimately was able to fix it by switching the shift mode off of Sequential and then back again in the LFS options.

Quote from bbman :...Or do you think if you'd just ask hard enough, they'll suddenly change their mind?

Might as well get in on the fun and give my $0.02...

Like every business, your decisions are based to some extent on customer feedback as long as you're looking to generate revenue. So if you see post after post of people wanting to contribute for free, and it would result in increased sales, it lends credibility to the argument.

And to re-emphasize, the OP wasn't talking about mods (which most of us wouldn't be for), just using the talent on tap to create new officially approved tracks. And I don't think he meant it to be LFS-bashing as he was accused of.

For me personally, the desire is to have real-life tracks. The unfortunate thing is that it's apparently cost-prohibitive to license a track. Which sadly leaves me stuck going back to GT3 to get my Nurburgring fix.........

It's going to be funny when Scawen gets on here and says "will you guys shut up already, I'm not adding any tracks!"

As much as I'd love to see a real life track (couVIRgh), I think in reality we have plenty. It's funny that it seems like mostly S1 tracks are used on the servers anyway. Developer time is probably better spent tweaking the physics at this point.

Wow, I'm really impressed how frequently VIR was mentioned! That would certainly be my vote! Beautiful track, nice combination of technical and fast. I know Carroll Shelby would vote for it too...."One lap at VIR is like a hundred at Watkins Glen."

If development time was the problem instead of licensing, it's too bad Scawen wouldn't consider letting the community work on it. I know there'd be lots of people willing to donate plenty of hours to get the tracks they want, and in the end, LFS would be better for it. Kind of like the recent development on engine sounds. Let the community do the work and we all win.

If licensing is the issue it blows my mind. Seems like tracks would want their name out there as it's free advertising... Maybe not The Nurburgring, but some of the smaller ones anyway.
Controller Config Options

First of all, my hats off to the developers for all they've included in patch Y. As a developer myself, I'm especially impressed that you can cram so much into a release, especially during the holidays. You put the big corporations to shame. Keep up the great work and don't let the whiners on this forum get to you!

One thing I'd love to see in a future release is a little more ability to customize the controllers. In particular, I'd love to be able to assign the turn signals and F9/F10/F11/F12 keys to buttons on the steering wheel. On tracks where there's not a long straight, it's difficult to fumble around on the keyboard to find the right keys. It would especially be useful if there was a way to adjust the pit options using just buttons on the wheel.

Also, I'm not sure how many people use the TrackIR, or if this would even be possible, but it would also really be nice to be able to recenter and pause the TrackIR from the steering wheel buttons. It appears the TrackIR just captures keyboard input so that might be something their developers would need to address instead.

Thanks, and again, fantastic work and happy holidays!
