Not sure if any are free, but I know you can get credits for the BT wireless zones for a few £'s.

Failing that, see if you can find a "friend" with an unsecured wi-fi router and use that

I am also fairly sure, many (big) public libraries have free wi-fi connections, might be worth asking in your local library

Thanks

Later I found this resource: http://www.oxfordcityguide.com/WiFi.html

Unfortunately, none of my "friends" has open wireless nets... and my ipw2200 isn't terribly efficient to sneak on to a WEP network...

Guess I'll have to wait until next week or later when I get my internet connection... maybe next year?

Hi everyone,

After painfully repairing my windows installation(s) because I switched to a different laptop, lfs is locked again ARGH!!!

Why, oh why doesn't it run well under wine???

And this time I (still) don't have Internet at home, because I recently moved into the UK... Guess I'll have to take it to some free wireless access zone to re-unlock lfs. Anyone knows where I can find one of those in Oxford?

Cheers, PJ.

Quote from Bob Smith :If you can tell me a program that will convert a .doc to a .pdf, without being some shitty unconfigurable printer driver (like Flashpaper2), then I'll get the PDF sorted.

Open Source PDF Creator: http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/

<rant>
If I may suggest as a tip for everyone, OpenOffice exports natively for PDF, LaTeX produces excellent PDFs (or PostScripts or DVIs), Mac OS X easily translates anything to a PDF file, and there are numerous free PDF printers around.

What generally does not help to achieve this is Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office. Acrobat is overwhelmingly big and heavy (not to mention expensive) to be used just a PDF printer or filter (which is not too different from a PDF printer). Office is even more expensive and does not export to PDFs natively.
So a better solution is either to use another office suite or a pdf printer which solves the same problem for any other program that can print.

Sorry for the rant. Any flames will be ignored because this is off topic here.

Quote from Zipppy :I never got this error in IE5 to IE7 and firefox. I thought Opera was for Linux though.

as is written on the message, this is *not* an error - it is a warning about what is now considered weak encryption method (short encryption key).

opera is a browser that exists and is distributed for free in binary form for the following platforms (at the moment): windows, solaris, qnx, os/2, macos, linux, freebsd and beos.

Hi people,

raizde2, I feel that you may be slower perhaps because you are simply increasing the realism level of your simming experience and that brings additional difficulties - it is just harder!

think about this: imagine driving a real XRT car in a real Blackwood GP track with real weather and real fear of crashing or dying... how close do you reckon you would get to 1:25?

Hello everyone,

I am also trying some laptimes at BL1 with the XRT. So far I managed to make consistent 1:34.something, but I feel that my setup is not yet adequate. I already did 1:33 but cannot repeat it often. I am really lousy on some sections judging by the wr replay.

I would like to try online racing, however, but I do not dare to do it yet as everytime I try to race against the AI, I end up being thrown out of the road either by means of too ambitious brakings or some form of contact.

Anyway, I just wanted to make my first post and say that I am really lousy

Cheers,
