Cheap Steering Wheel Stand?

I've spent all day looking at alternatives to expensive setups and the cheapest/most common seems to be this : http://www.ikeahackers.net/2010/01/xbox-wheel-hack.html

Anyone on here tried this, it's for a DFP and that's a strong ass wheel to turn :/

About a year ago and it came free with a mobile phone contract, so the best was not expected but I thought I would be able to push it if I ran with the worse graphics possible.

Wasn't sure of the spec that LFS demands. Thanks a lot for your help, guess i'll need to hook the PC up to my TV and manage to source an image from somewhere.

Just installed LFS after 2 years out and have come on to find my FPS at 9-10!

Spec :

Straight from DxDiag.

When I play I get low fps and sound are repeating on themselves (ending up with just an unbearable noise.
I've tried to set all settings to as low as possible on LFS but only managed to get 12FPS.

This is offline, No AI.

And is on a laptop. LFS did run perfect on my PC but has since lost its image and doesn't have a monitor any more

I drift (XRT, FZ5 mainly) with 720 degrees and race with 360 degrees of rotation, doesnt matter which car i race.

BTW Don't forget to set the wheel compensation to 0.00 in options (LFS).

XRT and still faces different ways , wheel comp is 0.00 and profiler is set to 720... any ideas ? ^-^ man im a pain in the ass :P

Done, now i have 900 and not 720.

Also the in game characers arms do not move to the same as the wheels, for example when the DFP is on full lock facing one way, the in game wheel will be facing a different way, why ?

Before I go into detail as to what is going on
Wingmans DFP Profiler - 720Degrees - CHECK
LFS Options Settings - 720Degrees - CHECK
LFS Pits settings - 720Degrees - CHECK

Now
My DFP Is stuck on approx 180Degrees and will not budge onto 720 Degrees even with all the above done

Any idea what this could be

Yes I have got the FFB plug plugged in , and USB and pedals...

To find out which are the correct buttons for you, open LFS, go to Options and then click on Controller. While you pull your gearstick towards you, a number will appear on the screen. This is the number for shift_up (12 in my config). Push the stick forwards and the number that appears is the one for shift_down.

Correct the numbers in the sequential.lfs file, save the file and your gearstick should then be configured for cars with sequential gearboxes.

Went back on LFS to find the shifter working again ? Strange stuff :P But hey it works, thanks for the help I think it could of started to work again after I calibrated it

Yeah the engine noise and ufo noise plays when I use the shifter (when pushed up = engine pulled down = ufo)
