I see some older threads about this but I am gonna ask again since this is a new year and others had garbage hardware...

Im trying to record FRAPS at an HD resolution (720p to 1080p) but Ive noticed that no matter where the resolution is, my FRAPS just won't record.. I get like 4-5 fps

I had music playing in the background and that recorded just fine

Now its no way possible that my hardware cannot handle this... I play and record Crysis, COD4, Assassins creed, and other games in HD, just fine at 60FPS...


hardware:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 @ 4.05Ghz
8GB DDR2 1000mhz RAM
NVIDIA GTX 260 Core 216
OS hard drive: PERC5/i 4 drive RAID 0 array
Recording drive: Two WD 1TB FALFS stripped to RAID 0 or WD 500GB AAKS


And LFS just won't accept a nice recording!

But the quality of Fraps, from what I remember was far superia, it seems a shame to settle. I've not found anything documenting our issues with Fraps so far.

Well I usually run 1920x1200 and get 300 FPS... I turned my resolution down to 800x600 and it still only recorded at 10 FPS which is disgusting

LFS happily runs at 100+FPS, yet frames drop to 10 when recording with fraps, which makes the video unusable. Running Vista 32 here.

I have a system that should no way in hell have problems with hardware (see below) so I know its not that my computer is slow...


Does LFS have issues with FRAPS recording and/or certain settings? I have LFS running 300+FPS....

The best advise I can give you is to race on another server. Server admins are all keen to get rid of crashers but if the server doesnt have a live admin or a published means of reporting foul play (ie: CTRA) then move on. The big server operators all have either live admins or replay reporting, that's why they're popular.

From patch Z that should also work on demo players I think ? Well he can always register for new username, but he might get fed up with it...

Unfortuneatly the graceful server admin decided to disable vote ban and kick so that was not an option

sometimes i gave tham restrictions by lapper (100kg+50%, by autokick) , it works fine . but needs time to edit .

And the MPR is 3MB in size, when I zip it, it only goes down to 2.09MB.... limit is 1.95MB which is lame.

How else can I get the file since this website does not accept RAR files

some kid came into a server a little while ago and was wreaking havoc on everyone.. I have a replay saved

What do I do with this replay? I remember reading somewhere when signing up for S2 that you can have your licence removed if you are reported enough for being a problem in servers....

And should I upload the MPR here?

Damn this game looks so good

and I got a massive FPS jump too....

Before they used to hover at like 230 with 1920x1200

now it just locks at 333FPS ROFL!

I wonder if I should post screenshots of me playing at 1920x1200... that would be epic lag for some people

Playing with LFS-tune, changing power outputs and drivetrain to any value seem to make handling alot worse

IE: XR GT, I DROP engine size and it goes slower yet in the BLP Track I cant make it around the first turn going over 40MPH, i can usually hit it over 50MPH....

what gives? LFStune make the car inevitable heavier ?

I want to dream that i will see cars like an SLR McLaren in the game

Couple cars with lots of Torque intead of horsepower
Superchargers would be cool as stated
maybe the option for a set of hard tires good for drifting on certain cars

Pulling the plug cannot be called a cheat. I race on my laptp, its all i have... I also use wireless... which gets disconnected when heavy traffic kicks in the Dormitories i live in...

As for changing how engine repair works... leave it to the Devs... they have probably tested your idea, and not implemented it for a reason

trust me, the team behind designing this game knows about engine repair, its been discussed before

i say keep tweaks to licenced users. if its approved by mods - let the people use it.

for those who cant buy the game... get over it, go get a pirated copy of some crappy game that people can hack via open software
you pay for racing/driving on Licenced servers with security that cheaters will loose alot of money if they cheat.

Im suspecting a driver problem right now

When I moved from Vista to XP, i Lost about 40-50 FPS ! and the AA problem shows up

I just uninstalled catalyst, and all ATI related drivers, and reinstalled them - problem still exists on XP

Why would this game run better under Vista? So i reinstall... and nothing is different

My vista ultimate was for some reason deactivated this morning... says something about invalid activation key... but i used it for over 2 months?!

eh - not using vista for a while (till i get my 64 bit) so doesnt matter
