Graphics Freeze After A Minute Or Two
Hello all,
OG LFSer who has not fired up this game in years. I finally got a new PC and fired up LFS to see what's what. It is great to see that this game is still around and still has a few guys online regularly still!
However, I am having technical issues with the software. Once I fire up the game and get on track, the video stops altogether after 1-2 minutes. The audio stays, and the game is still "running", but the video stops updating. The key commands still work, so at least I can shift+S off the track and not crash into anyone. But the only way out is to ALT+TAB out of the game and force close sit.
I've tried updating Nvidia graphics drivers to the latest version, but no luck. As far as I can tell I have things setup correctly in the game settings. I'm not sure what could be causing this issue.
Other games run great - no issues in any other software. My temps are fine, I monitor them with Corsair Link, CPU-Z and MSI Afterburner. I've made sure Windows is updated.
It was suggested that I turn down my refresh rate from 2560x1440@144Hz to 100Hz. I tried that, but no change.
If anyone has any suggestions, that would be greatly appreciated. Here are my system specs:

Go to www.broadbandreports.com and run a speed test and a line quality test. Speed isn't as important as the quality of the signal. You could have massive throughput but still have less-than-smooth gameplay if you're dropping packets.

This may be coming in a future patch when an option for limited setups is implemented.
I'm having the exact same issue, also after installing AVG 9.0.

TORRO should supply F1. TORRO tires in LFS give drivers a second a lap because they are made of pure win.
That picture is not of a grained tire. That picture is of the cars parked up in parc fermé after the race; it has lots of bits of rubber stuck to it because the drivers drive offline on the slowing-down lap in order to gain a bit of weight for post-race scrutineering.

Sorry if this is obvious, but are you trying this while the car is moving? I only have a Momo black but I notice that the wheel behavior is correct when the car is rolling, but when it's parked it behaves strangely.

Sounds like he was trying "let Windows look for an updated driver" which is a useless feature if he doesn't download one first.
Don't do this.
Windows didn't find a driver because you have to go download one first. Go to Intel's website and download the latest driver for your chipset. Install it, reboot, then see what happens.

Also the BBC recently aired their 2009 season preview, although I found it on RU so I can't share it with everyone here. It's downloading now so I'll watch it tomorrow. Just building the season up further, I can't wait.
