OLD newbie question: POV & FOV
Hi,
Let me say for first that I am not a very fast driver
my best with FOX at as club is 1:02:50
messing around with view controls I have found that changing pov and fov
change a lot the sense of distances and speed and make handling more or less easy..
can someone suggest me a good compromise to set view offsets and FOV that could make a bit easier to hit right braking points?

thanks

I use a custom view, that is just above the driver's helmet, roughly on the roll bar - I find this gives me very good visibility
Lower FOV values:
(+) reduces stretching/distortion of the image, and generally makes things look a lot more natural, real, and immersive
(+) make corners appear tighter
(+) make it easier to visualise yawing of the car
(+) removes excess dashboard from your vision
(-) reduces sensation of speed
(-) limits visibility (thus increasing reliance on looking left and right)

IMO, go as low as you can and get used to it, seems to work for some. How low depends on your setup, widescreen monitors can run higher without the negative effects, and triple screen setups can run pretty high and still feel like a low FOV on a single monitor.
