Very Experienced Racer Looking For a Team
Okay fine, Experienced Racer, without the "very". :P

My name is Nitwon, well, to you it is anyways. I've played Live for Speed for at least a year now, and loved every second of it.

My racing style
I am great at avoiding crashes. I don't know how I do it, but I can enter a mess of spinning/flying cars at turn 1 and come out the other side untouched, every time. I can only remember getting caught up in a turn 1 pileup once, and that was because the whole track was blocked up tight with cars, the race was restarted.

On the occasion that I do make an error or get bumped, I'm very good at recovering. I remember doing a test with me and some friends, driving an RAC (probably the most unstable car in LFS) up to a certain speed on a straight, and then swerve, causing the back end to flail around, and then recover safely. One of them ended up behind the crash barrier on his roof, the other wrecked the car against the barrier, and i recovered no trouble.

I race consistently. This shows especially in endurance races. I remember a GTR endurance race I took part in, after the first couple of laps, I was in 5th, but I drove consistently without any mistakes or undue wear on the tyres. I finished the race in 2nd because the cars in front had destroyed their tyres and/or crashed.

I'm a good teacher. I've taught a fair few drivers in my time, and I've seen great improvement in them. I enjoy teaching others how to race, it just gives me a buzz.

The kind of team I'm looking for is a fairly small one, I don't like big teams, they lose the personal touch. I'd rather be in a small team in which everyone knows each other. I also don't mind if the team isn't as good as others, as long as there are at least one or two racers at or above my level.

Take a look at the attached screenshot to see my best times around Blackwood GP. Most of them I could improve on now, they were made a while ago.

Also feel free to check my racer stats page on LFS world.

I'd be more than happy to do a trial with anyone, there's no such thing as a waste of my time when it comes to LFS.

P.S. Please don't advertise leagues to me, I know where the leagues section is and I'm already taking part in organised races to get myself seen.

Heya Nitwon.

Anyhow, this might sound silly but I back up Nitwon on his statements.
He helped me alot, he helped me racing and even push people out of the sand/being pace car

Good luck Nitwon!
Quote from SilverArrows77 :Hey Nitwon, feel free to come have a run in oneGP (links in my signature) and you may find yourself being picked up by a team, Currently looking for more entries in the series, so is a easy way to get to know some teams. Is a race on Saturday at FE Black (with BF1). Aside from that, good luck!

Thanks for the offer, but I'm busy Saturday, and it seems that this league has already started.

Hi there,

Im sorry but at the moment it looks like you a looking for a team rather than looking for a drive in a particular team. Most serious teams these days would rather you target one team at a time. Basically, do some research and see what team you would like to be in, race with them for a month or so, then see if you get along with them, if so, see if they are accepting entries and go from there.

Question: How old are you currently? (Some teams have a minimum age)
Question: If you gain a position through contact with another, what is your first move after taking the position?

Best of luck

I don't follow, what do you mean? I am looking for a team, yes. I haven't found any particular team yet. The reason I made this post is because the kind of team I'm looking for is a small one, which may not have a website or forum or anything.
Sorry for any confusion in my post. I was simply trying to point out that it may be more productive to target a particular team rather than posting your availablility for "any" team.

But thats just my opinion and experience talking.
Come check out www.lfs-lota.net. We're getting ready to start a new mini series.

He gives the position back

Good luck in your search, Nitwon

Oh I realize what you mean by this one now. I would either give the position back, no matter how many I lose, if they're still racing right behind me, I'd wait for an opportune moment to let them pass, rather than losing both of us more positions by letting him pass in a bad place; or if they were unable to continue because of it, I'd respectfully forfeit the race. I feel bad if I race knowing I've ruined it for someone else.

I did this with Gil07 [previous post] when I knocked him out of the race because I didn't see him on my inside, I heard him there, so I should have looked really.
I don't think "giving the position back" is the "right" answer to that question. It only says "gain a position through contact with another driver". It doesn't state that it's your fault. If someone hits me and I pass him because of that I certainly won't give him the position back.

Well yeah, obviously, I meant if it were my fault. If it was their own fault I'd carry on. :P

That's the kind of racing attitude that gets you penalties.

Indeed.

It is so bad that we even banned him from our team server.

Quote from Nitwon :That's the kind of racing attitude that gets you penalties.

Well, that's why they are called noobs.
