we had the full red line, then a couple patches ago they put a limit on it to stop before the redline. I know we dont need it, but why would they put a limit on it to stop it before the redline?

Its the same with my '97 Seat Arosa... cant get into redline.

Redline starts @ 6000 revs and the limiter hangs @6000 too...

Rev limiters.. I don't mind them if they are set right. XRT for example is fine, It is far enough past The RPM that the engine is putting out the most power. The FZ5, FZR, LX6 and a couple others are annoying, You reach peak power and you smack the rev limiter right before you want to shift.

What it change for you if they put ''cut off '' or red line in the future patch ?
If you don't go in this zone you will not listening it.
and finally check some videos of drift and please don't tell me that's '' ricer '' ( if it is explain me your definition of ricer )
