Not sure whether this is a bug or a thing that's done on purpose (cos it could lead to corrupted replays?).
I was just hotlapping with the XF GTI on Blackwood GP Rev and during one lap I noticed throttle cut was enabled, so when I got to the back straight, I pressed escape, clicked options|player and disabled the throttle cut (during driving). After I had finished my lap I wanted to save the replay but I got the message "Replay not being recorded". I can reproduce this, after either enabling or disabling I get that message.



PS Just to be clear: I have single player replay recording enabled

It is not a bug, if you change something in the Options and do not restart the HL you might see the note "Replay not being recorded".

it's because a hotlap will be "invalid" when you change your controls, specially when you drive the lap with wheel, switch to keyboard and tell everyone your teh keyboard g0d :P

It was news to me, but yeah, when you think about it, the reasons why it's done like now are quite clear.
