Hi,

The tip here is use a low poly model.
Try to make first a simple paper model from a low poly, if works fine, the try again with on model with better detail.

Best regards,

Alexandre
i did lol i set it on optimization .. by alot, and it still didnt want to work
Bumph!

I didn't want to create new thread just for this: I have downloaded the 3ds max v. 8 (should I download the version 7?) and downloaded brazil and downloaded the Ian H.'s scenes from http://ds-autos.digiserv.net/. I have "only" one problem. The mximum size of the render is set to 512 x 384 and I can't change it to any bigger. It says it is the maximum that brazil can handle but in the lfswiki they use brazil and get "bigger renders".

So the question (finally) is that is it possible to get bigger renders if I want to use the ds autos scenes?

So far I have got these out of it (check attachments). Lol, I tried to cheat brazil by rendering the car in pieces but the perspective doesn't quite yet fit

Hi!
You could try to render the scene using the blowup command. There is a dropdown menu up there in MAX. When you hit render you have to draw a region in the to be rendered view and click on OK.

Greets,

Sladjan
@Hyperactive: Do you have the full version of Brazil ? If not, that's the problem. You must have full version of Brazil to render with a bigger resolution than 512*384.
there is a program, its name is big render, and its a plugin that works with Brazil. the max pic size 1000x1000
and i think its somewhere on this website. if not try Google.

well if u have brazi "full" then u can render as big as u want
Actually I found a way of doing bigger renders. They look plain horrible...

But pressing the buttons in random order I got this:

The wheels look horrible and the scene is bad () but... well) I don't even know if I did use brazil or not

Have it but don't know how to use it

I'll just fiddle with this what I've got now. There is a lot to improve

Put BigRender in the max plugins folder.
just get your Scene ready, then press 8.
then click on Effects, then click Add.
find BigRender2 DEMO and click ok.
scroll down to BIGRender Parameters and put in your pic size say 1000x1000.
next is Subdivision, the top one type in 2 and the bottom one type in 3
click Save As and give it a name click Render job Done.
it will look like this.
