So. Yeah. My computer sucks so bad. I don't know the details about it, but all I know is the graphics card is old. So I upgraded to Patch Z and excited about the raised FPS. When I came to, though, the FPS would be at 12 FPS average. It used to be on 20+ on Patch Y. What's wrong?

Well, maybe it's because patch z has some more details. I mean in cars.

Your 3d card most likely. Patch Z uses hardware shading for the interiors so you'll have performance gains if you have a "modern" card and fps drops if not.

The usually positive change in fps was achieved by offloading more work from the CPU to the graphics card. If your GFX card is shite and already now struggling to display everything, then your fps will go down with patch Z.

LFS is known for running even on the oldest crap systems, but there is a limit, and this limit was slightly raised with patch Z.
