That's a severe hit. Anyone any ideas as to why this would be, or suggestions how to fix it?

You just DON'T need to have AA on videos. Who would even notice it in it because of the video compression etc?

Always record with 640x480 or 800x600 with no AA or AF.

Of course you could notice it, a simple way of getting a nice picture without AA is recording in high resolution and resizing the recording to something lower, using a high quality resizer.
