The online racing simulator
Never liked rFactor and didn't like that car when I tried it, either.
y not?
That Escort looks great. And physics seems to be way more drivable than in GTL. Also that sound seems great, in GTL it didn't really sound like a BDA that much that it seems by judging from that, not so good quality video.

Can't wait. But well I'm still having problems with RF's FFB so the enjoyment of that Escort can never be so high than it could be whit good FFB.
That escort video got me curious enough to install rFactor demo that I got with the wheel, but the driving feel really turned me off like fat lady in a swimsuit.
i liked driving the escort. are you sure that you have it set up correctly? did you see the vid of me driving the cobra 427?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NsB8GfGX07k the force feedback is pretty realistic for these cars. and sofar i havent experience any strange moments like i do with some other rfactor cars.
It looks absolutley brilliant, can't wait to try it

I have tried everything I just can imagine with RF's feedback. It just keeps working in a very bad way. It always does either one of the following, it keeps centering to middle always, not where tires want to get (doesn't tell anything about when tail is loosing and at the same time keeps blocking me of doing fast correct movements) or it doesn't center at all, it just keeps being sticky, ie. if I move my wheel to some point, it keeps it there and where ever I'm moving it, the FFB tries to resist that movement.

BTW that cobra looks and sounds awesome on that video. But at the same time I can see that this mod also seems to "feature" that annoying camera shaking movement thing on high speeds. I haven't ever understood the meaning of that effect what keeps me getting headache and makes visibility bad too. Is there anyway to disable that effect on RF?

I would be glad if someone could tell me how I should set up my G25 and RF for good FFB. I just keep having this feeling that there's no way to make it good, but I don't know why it keeps being bad just for me.
there's a way to turn it off, but i keep forgetting to do it.

The high-speed camera shake wouldn't bother me if it was more of a random shaking. The way it is normally, it's a weird up-and-down movement, like your driving with oval wheels.

Thanks, I'll try that later when I get back to rF again.

Quote from Scrabby :In most cars u need to put op negative force feedback so: -60% or something else, and dl the realfeel plugin and read the readme. Maybe then u'll have a better feeling.

EDIT: U might wanna try this new mod

G25 needs negative value, I have it set up already like that. I have tried Realfeel and it didn't make it really that much better. Same problems still, I just can't feel where car's tail is going because steering always do one of those things what I explained before.

When I'm getting back to rF I'm again gonna try some tweaking with FFB settings, but I feel it rather unlikely to have any good effect. But I just don't understand why it is like this with me.

-EDIT- I tried again. I did everything like the realfeel readme says, I even used that controller.ini for G25 what was in .rar with it. And I got that third effect what I didn't remember to mention, I don't have anymore ANY forcefeedback at all!
Well my DFP also needs negative FFB, probably EVERY wheel, but realfeal actually should help making it more "realistic". With Niels' C6 it works fabulous
Daang I got it working. Reinstalled whole rF, and patched it to newest version. I was using old 1.150 because with my old PC setup newer versions kept crashing. But it seems like now it works! I installed Realfeel and configured everything right and now driving with C6 2.0 is some freaking good fun.

Now I can't really wait for getting my hands to that historic mod and be able to drive BDA Escorts and Lotus Cortinas.

BTW this worked like a charm, thanks.
I got little bored and I tried to do a BATCH script what first finds XXX_cockpitinfo.ini files and then replaces CockpitVibrationMag=X.XXX with CockpitVibrationMag=0.000, but I can't seem to find a working script. Maybe I just need more time... But during now I just have to do that by manual labor.
Niels, would you mind if I borrowed your thread for a mo?

I'd just like to mention that the latest version of the Caterham mod has at last been released to the public. All cars in this mod are designed with carFactory and will utilise RealFeel to it's fullest.

Also in the works are an incredibly accurate (physics wise) CSR260 and an improved SVR8 engined Powertec which should be available soon.
soo... how much longer till 3.0? till it's done i guess.
Rapidshare claims that my Firefox 2.0.0.14 version doesn't support Javascript...

...and guessing where the blurry hell those cats are is driving me nuts!

Any sane mirrors?
Niels, I have to say... I just took your Corvette out to Mid-Ohio for the first time and it was the best feeling rFactor experience to date. The whole "lose the rear more than 10 degrees and you're spinning out at any speed" thing is nearly gone!
where can i download the Corvette?
Quote from G!NhO :thx, but are there different sites, because you can only download a certain amount of cars/tracks per day

Theres usually several different links to download the mods (Rapidshare, Filefront and often user hosted), that way you don't use up your RFc 'daily allowance'.

ok thanks
whats the newest version of the Corvette??
i guess its still the 2.0, it's really awsome to drive on tracks (pick trackday grippers, open roof )
