i know it's missing a keyboard and mouse but i have those already
What is your main purpose for this rig? Seeing that you added a TV tuner (PVR use?) I would recommend going to an HD ATSC tuner and bigger HDD. That'll add to a bigger price tag but well worth your configuration
LFS pc and sound editing with options
turns out it's 800$ over budget what can i downgrade
I don't really see why you have the need for an 8800gt or a Quadcore for a sound editing/LFS PC. You can save hundreds of dollars for the (exact) same experience. I mean, whether you have 60fps or 300fps won't matter, and LFS is not power-hungry at all.

I'd just pick up a DX9 card and a simple duo-core, although I can't be more specific than that atm.

Drop the P5KPL-VM for a "proper" P5K - the VM versions is trash (like the SE).

Also - DDR1066 RAM? Little excessive tbh. DDR800 would be fine.
Also a cheper case ?
Get a dual core if you don't do video editing or rendering.
Trash the 8800gt for perhaps a 7950 if you don't use dx10 games or play only lfs, that will also save lots of money.
Cheaper case, maybe reuse your current one if you don't need a second pc.
