Well, i can't get any sort of AA or AF. If i go into my Nvidia card options the AntiAliasing and Anisotropic filtering are at 4x and 8x, but nothing happens. I tried to adjust them and apply but still nothing happens. I keep getting the jagged edges.

What drivers are you using? AFAIK the 169.xx series had a bug where you couldn't add AA via a profile, only by applying a general profile (ie - All Games) would you get it.

Before I realised this I hosed a whole Windows install :X

Theres 171.xx's floating round on the interwebs, try them if that's your problem.
