It's not out yet, what did you expect?
all i gotta say is...geez that thing looks "WHACK"

i mean come on, the pics show that the whole wheel looks like plastic and the shifter looks like it couldnt go anywhere....sheesh i understand about the porsche logo on there but i mean $350?? man i could get a G25 and an S2 License with that but ya ill be joining u S2 racers soon
looks like a toy besides the fact that it says porsche on it theres nothing more... I rather have a dfp, besides 350 usd??? you can get a g25 for 220 usd. G25 is way better (not that i have it:tilt

edit: take a close look at the pedals... wouldnt it be hard to heel and toe?? i mean the gas pedal is really weird its like a buses gas pedal.
For all people hating the way the gas pedal is... Some porsches have this kind of pedal, nothing really spectacular about it, and you should have guessed, or either searched google for pics on the interior.
I don't care what it looks like, I want to know what it feels like. The FFB sounds promising. And I think there's hope for the pedals, too.
Wheel looks cool don't know how it works but G25 is better i think.

How in earth can you say that the G25 is way better. If you did a little searching you would see that the porsche wheel isnt out yet. So in terms of benchmarks etcetra you wont find any. So no comparision.

I think the G25 has prooven itselfs to be good. It had is flaws as well in the beginning with shifters who broke off for instances. But since its the only 1 outthere I think a little competion for logitech wouldnt harm. As we are users of that wheel in time we have the benefit of it due to prices wich will going down in the long run.

I would love to get my hands on such a wheel and try it out. I cant really judged until I for myself have tested it instead off saying up front its sucks etcetra. I doubt if it will be as bad as people keeps saying here without ever seeing or touching let alone using it.

From all I know they have spend several years developing it so it cant be that bad. And if you read what was said in that email sent by fanatec. They were testing it now for 24/7, It has reached a 1600 hour limit allready without any flaw. 1600 hours is a hell of a load off racing.

Let`s say you race 2 hours a day means that you used 800 days wich is over 2 years without any mailfunction. Although it is just a figure it has prooven its solid at least. So until the day its launched and is compared after some heavy session you cant say its bad or good.
its funny how people will become "fanboys" for companies that dont give them anything.

Hmmmmm............................... If you wanna call me a fanboy fine by me. I dont have a G25 and dont have the porsche Wheel. But I dont tell people a G25 or a porsche wheel is bad. All I say you cant be objective about it if you havent tried it yourself.

you have a good point there yet i dont think that fanatec is a good company just look at there other wheel.... but theres other stuff like the gamepad and joystick that look and sound reallly good
i dont think it can be better than the g25 cause logitech is very experienced in the terms of racing wheels. for instance just think
gp
gp force
momoforce
momo
dfp
dfp rev 2
g25
momo rev2
and theres probably more but i cant think about it. and they all have ffb yet fanatec is making there first wheel with ffb to match a g25... i dont think it will be promising, so it probably wont be much of a compition but then again you never know....
looks like the wheel is officially avaliable if any daring users would buy it for $350 usd...its available on the website but i dont know if its the beta version or final version
hmm.....well since Fanatec is from Germany(i think) it should be good quality even though the pics look like its a bad product besides...wait 3 weeks for some major reviews and videos on it and u can start comparing the G25 and this

sorry i wasnt talking to you lol. i was talking to all the people bashing the porshe wheel, when we hvent seen any legit reviews yet.i guess i shoulda used quotes
NP M8.

I have seen this so many times. People talking like they reviewed it and it isnt even on the market yet. I just want to see first benchmarks. I dont expect it to be as good as a G25 bcus the leck of experience like rainspecilaist wrote. Although its a german country and they have prooven in time that there products are always top notch. But I wait and see. I am in need of a wheel but I wait until first reviews show up. I would love to see it benchmarked against a G25. They should give a good judgement I think.
thats what i think, like the way niels1 thinks, That fanatec isnt going to be as good as the g25 because they lack experience i could be wrong because there other products look really good (not there other wheel) and its actually worth 299 but because it has the porsche logo itys $50 more can you believe that?
I can't wait to get some reviews in and see what it is like. I really think if it's positioned around the G25 market then people that are u to a G25 should be testing it and reviewing it. That said, a few that have the DFP would also give a good benchmark.

Let's hope Fanatec have taken this in to their thoughts when they get the reviews done for a true benchmark.
It is unlikely to beat a G25.. They use the same type (ish) of motor; from an RC car (not really making a lot of sense for high torque low rpm applications if you ask me..)

But they only use one.. This means likely that there is more gearing, meaning a slower spinning wheel..

The other two motors are vibration motors for in the wheel itself. It all sounds and looks quite tacky and crappy to be honest; my jaw would drop if this would outperform a G25.. It should be less noisy probably, but I just really doubt if the force and speed can be comparable.
Lets hope whoever won the Aston 24hr sweep stake post's a review !

Or indeed anyone who buys one !

Erm, On second thoughts i'm probably under an NDA. Methinks i'll wait until Mr Fanatech gets back to me before i say anything :P

Ok, i'd like to point out that in the FAQ it says that...

"The price is 180 £ (350 USD) (excl VAT) in the USA and 220£ (300€) (incl VAT) in Europe."

While in another area of this site it claims...

"The wheel can be purchased for 112£ (150€) (Europe) or 90 £ (175 USD) (USA and rest of the world)."

Bad news - ATM no 64-bit drivers, which is an issue for people like me
