I could'nt think of what to name the title but heres the deal.

I have a great CD i like to listen to here (MOS Ibiza Annual 2007, Great CD!! ) and i want to get the tracks from the CD onto my phone so i can listen to them on the way to work.

So, i was wondering if any of you knew any good free programs that would be able to rip the tracks from the CD and convert them into MP3 format.

Atm, all i use is Sonic record now, which is good enough for me as all i do is make my own CD's.

Exact Audio Copy (EAC) is a nice point and click gui for it, and it comes with a number of decent presets that come from various forums.

Windows Media Player and iTunes both do what your wanting.

iTunes does just what you need, check under prefs to change the ripping format.

Windows Media Player but change the settings to Rip it at .mp3

CDex is quiet good program

EAC + Lame is still the norm for release groups and offers excellent quality rips, if it's setup properly. However, if you're not such an audiophile and don't want 10 MB mp3 files any of the other programs mentioned will do just fine

If you want good quality or in case your CD is a little scratched, but you are willing to spend some extra minutes, use EAC.

If you want poor quality and you have perfect CDs or if you're just in a hurry, use something else.

I've used AudioGrabber and LAME for years now. Would I get any benefit switching to EAC?

Slightly less arsing about imho - I did stop using AudioGrabber many years ago though Comes with the Hydrogenaudio forums recommended presets, and you can point it any copy of LAME you like (within reason, obviously) and pass it any additional options, which wasn't available in audiograbber last time I touched it. It does all the usuals, such as integrating with FreeDB, error correction (works rather nicely with knackered CDs tbh, although can take quite some time to actually get the data), automatic configuration wizards, etc.

May be worth trying, if you fancy a change

I'd recommend CDex as well. Extremely easy to use, and hasn't failed on me yet!
