'The rally sims (Richard Burns, Colin McRae) allow a lot of drifting.'

Thats what happens in rally... It would be stupid if it DIDNT allow you to drift/slide
In rallying it's not drifting because they don't do it to look cool, they do it to be fast. Call it powersliding. Though in modern WRC rallying going really sideways isn't even the fastest way anymore. It's funny (and sad) that some 30 years old RWD almost road car spec historic rally Escort looks more spectacular and it is more interesting to watch because it goes sideways, than WRC 2006 spec rally car.
Ok I have to be more precise. I don't talk about Rally or any 4WD car at all ... and I am not talking about a short oversteer with a RWD car.

I am talking about a very very very long controlled drift like you can do it around the skidpad. I can drift around the skidpad round after round without aborting the drift. I can even get it nearly to destroy the tires without leaving my drift ... so I am talking about 1 Minute of drifting around with a RWD car

In rFactor for example you can drift excellent with AWD cars. But its nearly impossible with RWD cars.
I didn't play GT Legends a lot yet. But I bet you couldn't drift several rounds on a skidpad if there was one. Its something about the ISI engine I guess. I really really hope they fix it some day, because some parts of the driving experience are in my oppionion better than in LFS. It has sometimes some strange grip ...
LOL BBT get your months strait!

Your analogy is how I think of GTR too =)

GTR2:
"It's like heading down to the bar and picking up some hottie bar fly chick with fake boobs and daisy-dukes, and getting a quick romp in the hay; leaving you with nothing more than an itchy crotch and an empty wallet in the morning. LFS is more like the medium-pretty girl who has character and substance underneath... You should marry LFS, it can only get better with time like a good marriage, because it's not built on superficialities. The bonus with LFS is that one day it'll turn into the hottie just to finish it off. Conversely, the "sim whores" of the world have no hope of ever having the substance they lack which is tragic indeed."

Like any slut, GTR2 has sex appeal that can make you crave more. Once you "go around" a few times you realize the relationship between you and the ... sim ... is shallow and only based on depraved desire for a few moments of extasy instigated by a lust for extreme sensory input.

=)
i tried the csr sound mixer, and imo, i think it sounds absolutely crap :| I'd rather listen to lfs default sound than an orchestra of bee's
Maybe you haven't got the right sounds? I think it sounds really good, especially the fxo... the brake squeal is really cool. Thing is it add all these other sounds you don't get normally, gears clunking, whining at high speeds etc etc. Just got get the volumes right.

You sure you had the latest version of CSR which is 0.31 alpha? And then get the sound pack which includes almost all cars: http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=14344
I have, and still do, run a GTR server. More GTR2 now though.
I have run servers for LFS, GTR, GTR2, rFactor, GTL and netKar, and I have driven on all of them.
Each sim has good points and bad points as you would expect.
Sometimes I'll drive some laps on netKar, decide to try a few online races in LFS, Wednesdays and Sundays it's GTR 2 with the ERG.
Comparing sims is non-productive in my opinion because I like them all and I'll use them all, depending on what I feel like racing. Each has good points and bad points but it's all relative to personal taste in my experience.
