Is it possible to make an intro movie for LFS while it's loading? Something like this:

PS: To get such fast load times, install the latest test patch U20, then go to Options > Misc, set "Load track when starting" to "No"

Well in other games you can just skip the movie so naturally if you want you should be able to skip. Otherwise you can sit back and watch! I reckon this would give the game a lot more high end look!

There is a intro movie. I think it selects the first replay in the list (single player only i think) and plays that. Although i turned it off and i dont know how to turn it back on.

If a proper intro movie is ever added, i really REALLY hope there is an option to not show it. If i want to watch a movie, i'll stick one in the dvd player illepall

See now that would have been just great without the illepall A movie would be a nice addition, perhaps some people in this community could make a few, get the devs to decide/judge...

But at the moment, in alpha stage, I think there are a few more important things.

An intro video needs to be a summary of the game content, as that's constantly changing making one now is really a waste of time. You'd have to keep redoing it as new stuff gets added to the game.

I think one would be a good idea, perhaps a community competition for one which displays LFS at its best. True enough it keeps changing, but not in such a way that an intro movie would be immediately out of date. Maybe have it set to run always on startup for demo users with a key-press skipping it, but when S2 licenced, only have it run once, and on subsequent launches go straight to the menu.

Just my opinion though, small bits like this add the polish most people expect to a game.

you can play NFS if you need an intro.

When this game is finnished after s3 (long time) it will need one for commerical uses kinda. If a game dont look good, people dont want it. But then again isnt this game based for revheads like us who dont give a uckfay .

Well, that's because this video has been posted so many times that most of us left a comment already in another thread... I myself wasn't too fond of this video, I like Just Racing, Aspirations, Run Riot and so on waaayyy more and if there ever will be an intro, one of these REALLY great movies should be it... As of now, I don't see a need of an intro...

If you want an Intro Movie grab the HighRes Version of the Movie you've posted here: http://1000gp.ovh.net/~grzegor ... %20Live%20For%20Speed.avi
then download and install the Bink Videoplayer from here: http://www.radgametools.com/down/Bink/RADTools.exe

Then convert the Divx File in an bik File and after that you can make a selfplaying exe out of the bik file using the following switches: /W-1 /R /C
These switches are doing the following. Video in Fullscreen, Blackout the rest if the Screen and Hide the Mouse Cursor.
When your done with that create a batch file. In it write the following


The intro.exe is my selfplaying bink File
Now copy the Files you just created in your LFS Folder and execute your .bat File.
Now you have your Intro movie which plays before the Game starts.

Hmm, that Video is nice, but i think it's to long and the Quality is to poor, to be used as an intro Movie.

i did not say that i want the movie to be on lfs..i like the blank screen but the movie i very good made and i like it...
