Problems with momo
Hi!

I've just bought a MoMo-wheel.
I've been racing with it for about 100-200 laps, but now I've started to experience some strange things with the Force Feedback... I'll give it a try to explain...

1. If I'm standing still in pit with the F0X and slowly doing full turns with the wheel to the right and to the left sometimes it feels like the friction from the front wheels dissapears for 3-4 degrees. If I turn back it might feel perfect, friction all the way, and sometimes I can go back again with friction all the way, but then suddenly it looses friction (ff) for some degrees? I can also feel this when I'm out driving...
Its always happening 5-10 degrees after the "0-position"
The strange thing is that the feeling is different with different cars, though its always there...I think...

Its kind of the same feeling like when you've hit a curbe and your right or left wheel is off the ground for ½ sec or something like that. But I feel it when standing still...

Has my wheel started to give up or is it the FF that's bad?
I'm using the wingmanteam drivers.

2. I've started to feel abit play between the wheel and the "body" of the momo. If I pull the wheel thowards me and to the sides it moves a few mm (2-4 mm). Perhaps this is a usual result after a few laps and a totally normal wear?
what are your FF settings in the software and ingame?

Sounds like you use(ed) to much. My momo has freeplay as well and other people to, that happens after a while because its a plastic wheel. Its normal and youre getting used to it.

btw. there are so many momo threads in this forum, esp. in the past few weeks i have seen around 10 +/- threads with the same or simular problems. Try to use the search function, maybe you find some useful informations. Good luck
Sorry, I'll do a search...

About my problem... I guessed that it was just a freeplay and I'll probably getting used to it.

About the FF issue... I get the same feeling no mather how much FF im using... I'll check my FF settings ingame when I get home.. But I'm using something like 8-10% probably..
Made some more testings, I've tryed all differnt kinds of setups, but I still have the strange problem.

One thing that I've noticed is that if I have FF set to 10 in game the area where it looses FF is increasing alot. If I turn FF to 100 in game the area where the FF dissapears is only about 4-5 mm turn...
hmm im not really sure whats going on inside your wheel but i would say, as long as you can exchange it within the warranty, do it

Is that the first wheel you ever had? In that case, you should do more testing but carefully, step by step - option for option. I cant remember how much time i spend as i went from a Microsoft to Logitech Wheel but in the end i think i found a suitable Profil to play with.

I wish you good luck and maybe someone else is more a help then i was

Edit: it sounds more and more like a deadzone somehow, not sure if its forced by hard- or software.
